I have TWO (2) Husqvarna 54 inch cut riders. One is an LGT2554 and the other is an LGT2654. I posted my troubles with the LGT2554 2 years ago and I bought the LGT2654 used with 120 hours on it. The 2554 had broken front wheel bearings, a cracked frame and a broken right rear axle. The 2654 developed a huge leak from the bottom of the engine, which the mechanic attributed to an incorrectly installed pan gasket. Now, 3 days ago the 2654 broke the right rear axle. Quick note to anyone with a broken axle: Tuff Torq will not sell you just the axle so the trans-axle can be rebuilt.

Rick, I have the same issues you do. My LGT2554 is a 2010 and just broke the left axle. I also get stuck on wet grass if there is a slight incline that my last mower used to have no trouble with. This may not make you feel better, but you're not alone.

I have a LGT2554 and loved it for the 1st year. Then my front tire fell off and I bought after factory roller bearings. The my drive belt came off because the frame cracked where the transaxle bolts to the frame. The frame tore on both sides. The repair dealer welded the frame and it hasn't broken since. He said the mounts were installed upside down which caused movement of the transaxle. He also had problems with Husqvarna's Service Representative. He had not physically been to the dealership in over a year, but the computer system showed he had been there twice in the last year. After my dealer told him he wanted to talk to his boss and was denied, the Rep put a hold on my dealer's ability to purchase any parts from Husqvarna. They are too busy building cheaper versions of their products for the big box stores at lower prices. I will never buy another Husqvarna anything.
