Ironically, the day before I got your first message I actually rigged the lawn mower myself by using a pen spring I found lying around. It worked first try. I knew where the spring belonged only because, luckily, the spring remained attached with no tension left. I took the spring to a dealer to purchase the correct spring and it's been almost two weeks since I've heard from them. If I hadn't rigged it, our grass would be at least a foot long by now. Extremely frustrating on Husqvarna's part.

Unfortunately, my husband and I searched near and far for a correct diagram. The spring that had been stretched beyond use luckily remained attached so we realized this was most likely the issue. This same spring does not appear in any of the diagrams we've found online, no matter how detailed they are. Perhaps I could be of help to you. I took this spring to a husqvarna dealer and he ordered me it (in hopes of it being the correct one, because not even he could pinpoint exactly which it was according to the diagrams he had either-they are that useful, he showed me). I have to wait until next Monday or Tuesday to finally get this spring and then attach to see if it fixes the issue. I took photos (the best I could because it was in a tough area to get a good one) of where the spring belongs and will post them. I will let you know if this fixes the issue. Hopefully it turns out to be of some use to you as well.

I guess I do not understand why Husqvarna would put such a crucial part out in the open when it was so easy to get it snagged on shrubs etc. Frustrating.

I am currently having this EXACT same issue with the same model! Did you figure out the issue/repair? I hate to drag the lawn mower to a dealer just to have a spring attached.
