How do you replace fuel lines in the Poulan P4018...escalated
Service & Maintenance Question posted November 4, 2013 by Randy Ziss in Poulan: Ask & Answer > Chainsaws public
    Question:
How do you replace fuel lines in the Poulan P4018 (40cc/18inch) chainsaw?
    Details:

In my 2nd season of light tree falling and sawing firewood, I've seen my chainsaw already fail.  It would start but would not power up consistently making me think I needed to clean the air filter or check the fuel filter.  Air cleaner element was fine, but when I checked the fuel filter, it wasn't attached to anything and several pieces of fuel line was laying in the fuel tank looking like dried up pieces of macaroni.  I suspect your fuel lines are not very fond of the ethanol which may be in fuel often sold.

Personally, I use 93 octane marina fuel without ethanol for this reason, but my fuel lines failed anyway.  I suspect this is out of warranty and the local servicing dealer indicated it would cost the same amount as a new Poulan chainsaw....then suggested I buy a Stihl chainsaw.  Is this how you prefer to see your business evaporate?

Catastrophic failure of FB 25 Featherlite blower power...escalated
General Product Question posted November 4, 2013 by Randy Ziss in Weed Eater: Ask & Answer > Blowers public
    Question:
Catastrophic failure of FB 25 Featherlite blower power shaft. Has this been reported and is there a recall in effect?
    Details:

    AnswerArmy
I purchased your Weedeater FB25 Featherlite blower for small tasks around the yard.
While I know the unit is older than one year, I believe a recent failure actually represents a manufacturer defect and not a warranty claim.  While my wife was using the unit, it suddenly revved up higher than usual followed by noises which suggested something had broken and disintegrated.
Upon breaking the unit down it was obvious that the primary power shaft from the engine which spins the turbine which generates the wind power had snapped clear through the shaft resulting in the unit separating from the magneto and breaking the fins into numerous pieces.
The unit was never used for anything than blowing leaves off our driveway and nothing had ever lodged in the impeller to cause the shaft to come under severe stress which might cause such a catastrophic failure of the unit.
I was instructed by the 800 number to take it to Power Pros of Denver NC, but they looked at it and stated the obvious---it's ruined and appears to be outside of warranty.  I shared that a product failure like this should be important to the Company who manufacturers or sells it.  Power Pros was of no help.
I suspect this was a product failure due to an improper alloy used for this powershaft.  I can send a picture to show how the shaft was severed or drop it off on Statesville Rd, Charlotte as I don't live far away.  I'm trying to do you all a favor so others don't have the same bad experience.
