    Question:
Can I use the H30 file kit instead of H25?

    I have a chainsaw 346XP using H25 66DL(16") chain.

I ordered a H25 File kit, but H30 file kit was delivered. The dealer said it's the equivalent 0.325.

According to the operator's manual and Husqvarna home page, H30 file kit is different one.

Is it possible to use the H30 File kit instead of H25? If not, could you tell me what is the differences between them?

    Regards.

The main difference between the H25 and the H30 chains is that the H25 has .058 drive links and the H30 has .050 which has nothing to do the cutters angle filing. So yes the H30 file will work fine just make sure the depth gauge file tool fits over the depth gauges as never had my hands on one these roller type gauges.

Thanks! According to Husqvarna web page, H30 Pixel chain uses only H30 Pixel File kit instead of H25 File kit. All other .325 pitch / .053 gauge chains use H25 type combi gauge. I am aware of the 0.2mm difference of drive links. That annoys me a lot!

      Thanks Eugene!

As you wrote, the difference is the thickness of drive links in chain. And two file kits have different part numbers of combi gauges.

If the two file kits can be applied identically, I couldn't understand why Husqvarna made those two kinds of file kits.

      That annoys me a lot!
