Question:
Hi there, I'm a professional Arborist from PA who purchased a T540XP in July of last year and have had nothing but problems. It never really ran great, and as time went on it only got worse. Frustrated, I went back to the Stihl trim saw I had been using and put the 540 aside for a while. Finally getting around to it before the 6 month warranty ran out, I took it to a reputable local dealer a few days before Christmas, where it has been ever since (it's now almost APRIL!). Only 5 hours of runtime on the saw. They have thrown every part I can imagine at it, and have had no success. I just want a stinkin' replacement saw already! The dealer tells me that it is under warranty and they are working with Husqvarna to troubleshoot the saw. Is there anything I can do to get them to just give me a replacement, or am I at the mercy of the dealer here? $650 on a tophandle and this is the support I get? My Stihl dealer would have given me a replacement immediately if the saw couldn't be fixed a timely manner. Thanks for any and all help!!
Answer
I know it frustrating but me ask this question have they brother to replacement the spark plug with known good plug? The reason I ask those NGK CMR6H plugs are giving me a fit on repairs here. I just fix Stihl HS56 hedger that was dieseling on account of the plug failing.
I have seen some very weird problems from total failure to knocking to dieseling from these plugs.

It does sounds like they should just replace the saw and then sent the current back to Husqvarna so they can find what wrong with it as they may need their hands directly on the saw. I know if it was up to me this what I would do but I am lowly small independent shop without any dealer associations.
When a commercial client is the user they should get a priority in such cases in my opinion but just how I have always worked over the years.
Anyways give the customer service number a call to see if they can help out.
