General Product Question last edited February 15, 2012 by Richard Bode
    Question:
I bought a 4218 chainsaw and after finishing a cut and letting out of the throttle to an idle it will die. This happened about 5-6 times in the first hour and a half that I used the saw. I assume the idle on the carburetor needs to be set higher, but I couldn't find any relative instructions in the owner's manual. How can I fix this problem?

    Question:
How to I remove the cover.....
I just purchased my first Poulan Pole Saw, model PPB40PS, that operates off a 40V lithium ion battery.
I am reading the instruction manual and it is not very clear on some things. I have searched everywhere trying to figure out how to remove the "COVER" over the bar and chain so I can learn how to adjust the tension of the chain when needed and to also clean as needed, per instructions.
Do I need to remove all the screws off the cover to get it off or is there another quicker and easier way to remove the cover?
I sure hope I didn't buy a tool that is going to be more of a pain in my side than helpful !

General Product Question posted August 8, 2017 by Ryan Scott
    Question:
I just bought a 562 XP auto tune with a 28" bar (std Husqvarna bar and chain from dealer) It's first job was to cut rounds on a 28" diameter Douglas Fir. It took every bit of the 28" bar. When the dogs caught and bit in the chain would bog down and stop. I had to lift and relieve it for it to go again. Is a 28" bar just too much for this saw? Or is this a tuning issue? First time using, first tank of gas... filed with Husqvarna pre mixed high octane fuel. If I need to upgrade to a 576 to run a 28" bar that will really work when needed I will. Need real world advice.
    Thank You!

    Question:
    Gentlemen,
I have been using your pole saw, PPB40PS, and am very pleased with the cutting performance and battery capacity. I had difficulty with making the under cuts. The saw kept pushing me out of the cut and I had to keep repeating the cut. I have added a modification that stops that problem and also enables to cut off smaller limbs on the bottom of larger limbs.
I have added a three inch long piece of aluminum bar stock to the nose of the bar. The bar stock projects beyond the chain one and one half inches and is angled slightly outward. This modification has really enhanced the performance.
Long ago and near by, I used a Homelite saw with a three inch finger on the bottom of the bar that was used brushing out small stuff.
I assume your chain is an Oregon 91?
I store the pole saw with the bar horizontal and the oil reservoir on the bottom, no oil leaks.
I have been using your Wild Thing, chain saw for over fifteen years. The saw lasts about five years that represents thirty cords of wood.
    Thanks,

    Question:
I have a problem with a Poulan Pro PP4218AV chainsaw. The gas cap is almost impossible to screw in or out. I have called customer service, and the reason is the plastic cap expands because the gas has ethanol. Their solution: Put gas cap in the sun, so that it can dry out, or use a light bulb or other heat source to dry it out! What a lousy response. How about supplying a cap to consumers that doesn't expand? Just wait, some consumer will use a lighter or blow torch to dry a cap out, and then boom! It is probably time to contact the Bureau of Consumer Protection.
