Well after I posted this and I was told that the axle was bent, I could not understand how a cast iron axle bends so I took it off and found the bushing broken (both) so I replaced it and it somewhat straightened it out. But slowly the wheels started turning out again. So I said what the heck and went ahead and bought the axle and both spindles :(. Just got the parts last week to find out that the bushing don't come with a new one, they actually want you to use the old one. Got the bushings in today and I'll post my results as soon as I put it back together, and if this doesn't fix it then maybe I'll try what you did.
You're correct about this being a major pain in the wallet. Tried Craftsman before; junk, tried Husqvarna; junk. Have no ideal what to try next, maybe something cheap that if I have to put money into it will only make it better.
Thanks for letting me know what you did for yours.
Have a Blessed day! Mark Shaw
That was the first thing I checked and they were good. I got a reply from someone else that had the same problem with the same model number and he told me that his front axle was bent and he replaced it, so I decided to look at mine and found that the bushings were cracked and missing the majority of the washer part of them that may have something to do with it. Ordered the parts and expect them early next week.
I'll keep you updated on what happens when I get the parts and put on.
thanks for all your assistance.

About 2 years ago it was sent to an authorized service rep for something else and they had noticed it then and said that the drag links needed replaced. After waiting 3 months, it returned with the drag links backwards and had to go back to them for them to correct. But even when it got back it never still straightened out and contiinously gotten worse that when I turn it's that NASCAR plowing that happens.
I also have the exact same steering issue, did you ever get an answer ?
