    Dear rlhanson,

Thank you for contacting us at Answer Army, we apologize for these issues you are having with your mower.  Sounds to me that you are experiencing electrical problems that could be a number of things ( starter, ignition module).  My best suggestion is to have an authorized dealer take a look at the unit. Our dealers are our eyes and ears on the field and especially when it comes to electrical work we want trained technicians tackling these tasks to reduce risk for the consumer and comprimising the electrical system on your mower.  What is your zip ?

    Regards,

    Benji C.

    Dear Jim,

It is absolutely not recommended to shift gears while in motion.  Please push in the clutch/brake select desired gear and engage clutch slowly.  Not using the clutch will comprimise the integrity and longevity of your transmission.  Even though it will go into gear, I STRONGLY advise against it.

    Dear W,

Being that the unit carries a 2 year manufacturer's warranty my best advise is to have it evaluated by a Weed Eater authorized service technician.

In a situation like this that you describe there could be a number of things to troubleshoot; some being easy fixes to other requiring extensive knowledge in the product itself.

I have attached below a link to the service dealer locator that can further assist you with your inquery.  Reminder: proof of purchase must be presented to validate all warranty work.  Hope you find this information useful and thanks again for contacting us!

    Dear Ms. Vaughn,

Thank you for contacting us!  To remove the debris shield you must flip the unit upsidedown, and locate the front locking tab on the opposite side of the shield.  Press the locking tab tighly and carefully lift up from the back side of the debris shield towards the locking button. (WARNING: please be mindful that there is a line limiter on the inside of the shield that is very sharp and can cut you). After an audiable click, the shield should remove by sliding out.  When installing the edger guide please be sure to insert the guide onto the shield before installing the shield back on.  There is an opening for the front lockin tab to center itself, insert tab. Once tab is centered via the locating guide hole, then pull the shield toward the motor untill the rear locking tabs lock into place.  You will know if it is  properly connected because you will hear a click.  Be sure that everything is moving freely and that nothing is caught between the housing and the shield.  Hope this information helps, and if you want to reference to a visual step by step process for removing or applying the shield, I've attached a link to an Owners Manual that explains this process on pages 4-5.  Thanks again for choosing Weed Eater products.

    Everett,

    Thank you for your question!

We recommend you apply lube as recommended in the Owner's Manual.  The Weed Eater One is a very maintenance friendly machine, but it never hurts to WD40 some areas that you want to keep rust-free, especially if they are moving parts with a load of any kind. Not required, but never hurts.

    Best regards,

    Benji C.
