    Thank you for FINALLY providing some sort of answer.  Unfortunately, it appears you did not have the additional information I posted available to you.  In short, I spent over an hour trying to use the response system associated with your 1-800 number and always ended up with a busy signal ( that is, your 1-800 system is non-functional).  I also indicated that the "servicing dealer" listed for my area refused to even discuss the issue since I didn't purchase the unit from their shop. 

    Now we are 15 days into this issue and, from what I can see, right back where we started.  At this rate the warranty period, even if it is three years, will have expired before I get any sort of usable answer.  As for your request as to model number, that was included in the first line of my original message.  The request for serial number makes little sense since warranty is based on model number and purchase date (as listed in other places on this site).  The requirement to take the unit to a "servicing dealer" is problematic since the local servicing dealer has already stated that he will only service units he sold.  In other words, I tried everything you have suggested BEFORE I attempted contact through this site and NONE of it worked.  Frankly, this sounds like an "answer" taken from a script and not one developed after a careful reading of the information provided.

    In fairness, I was very pleased with my Husquvarna product and its performance until this problem arose.  I have NOT been pleased with a "customer service" system which cannot even tell me if a unit is under warranty and which shuttles me back to reattempt contacts which have already failed.  You need to remove your little green check from my original question.  This is not a "Best Answer" and doesn't really appear to be an answer at all.

     I've been trying to answer the same question (also a Lowe's purchase with NOTHING in the manual)and have gotten quite frustrated. Mine is about a year older (May, 2009) and I've tried calling the 1-800 number (the call goes to a busy signal when you enter the requested information), I tried calling the listed local dealer (who refuses to service the unit unless they sold it) and I've waded through this entire website several times. Frankly, at this point I would be extremely hesitant to purchase another Husquvarna product or to recommend one to my friends. Hope the results here are better.
