Hi Pat ... I bought my Weedeater One from Sears Canada in 2010.

See my answer to a similar problem that I had with the weedeater one gears that I posted in July 2010 ( http://answerarmy.com/posts/378cfaf899 )

You don't need a service centre to fix the problem if you have a socket set and a wrench.

The fix takes about 15 to 30 minutes to adjust the gear tension.

I also noticed that you are also from B.C.

If your looking for the two bagger lawn catcher in Canada,   FORGET IT .. you won't find one.

I ended up buying one from HOMEHARDWARE in Bellingham, Washington.

You can bring it back to Canada duty free within the same day / hour since the bagger attachment is made in the USA.

    Dan.

Hi Bob ... did you see my reply to another fellow weedeater WE261 owner with the same issue.

Hi Mark ... I bought my WE261 about 3 weeks ago and the reverse gear worked on the first mowing but then on the second and third mowing, the reverse gear seemed to slip to the point of not even engaging.  It didn't matter if the mower blade was engaged or not.

There is a post on this web site that had a similar problem with the forward gears not engaging properly.

The solution mentioned in the previous post said to loosen the two large bolts (one black and one silver, use  a 1/2 inch socket)   that attach to the bottom of the gear lever and the metal flange by the motor and rear tire.   I put the lever into the reverse position and loosed the two bolts.  Once loosened,  you can slightly reposition the flange plate and the gear shift lever to get a bit more movement of the friction drive plate to the left of center on the pulley wheel.   You can see the friction wheel and the drive pulley if you look towards the motor (between the gear fender and the mower blade housing).   Retighten the two bolts once you reposition the gear shift lever.

I now have a positive reverse engagement of the friction wheel and the drive pulley.  Neutral and all 3 forward gears also work perfectly too.

Hope this resolves your WE261 reverse issue also.

Good news for all Canadians in or near Vancouver, BC, Canada that are trying to buy the Weed Eater 26" bagger.

Having NO luck in obtaining the Weedeater bagger in Canada, I ventured down to Bellingham, Washington to see if HomeDepot had the bagger in stock.  Unfortunately, you have to order the bagger online and you can't ship the bagger to Canada (you need a US resident address).  You can't even ship the bagger to the Bellingham Home Depot store.

I also tried the Bellingham Sears store to see if they could order the bagger from their Sears.com web site.  No luck there as the website also won't ship to the Sears store  (once again you need a US resident address)   AND  you need a US credit card.

The SOLUTION for me was to call the ACE Hardware store in Lynden, Washington.  The manager was very obliging and was able to order the weed eater bagger from their Acehardware.com web site.  The Ace Hardware item number is  7238959.

I just provided my Canadian Visa Card number (over the phone) to the manager.  Four days later I was able to pickup the bagger.   The price was $189.99 US plus Washington state taxes.  The BONUS is that there are NO DELIVERY charges when the bagger is shipped from the online warehouse to the local Ace Hardware store.

The Ace Hardware address is 1736 Front St, Lynden, WA 98264.  The phone number is (360) 354-2291.

Since the bagger is made in the USA,  there is NO DUTY to pay per NAFTA.   If you stay at least 48 hours in the US,  the Canadian tax exemption will also allow you to bypass paying the Canadian HST on the purchase price when crossing the border back into Canada.  I just did a 2 hour trip to cross the border, picked up the bagger from the Ace Hardware store in Lynden and then headed back home.  In this case, you MAY or MAY NOT have to pay the additonal HST tax.

Hope this answer helps other Canadian shoppers on the west coast that are trying to purchase the weed eater bagger.

Benji .. Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately,  the www.weedeater.com  service locator web page only supports United States zip codes and NOT Canadian postal codes.

I have contacted a local parts / repair store who sells some weed eater parts.

They have told me that they can't order the 2 bin bagger either.

I'm not sure why we can't get the accessories for the WE261 riding mover up here in Canada.

Thanks for the reply Greg...   I had a look at the web site you provided.

Unfortunately,  the WE261 takes the 26 inch 2 bin bagger.  The baggers on the web site are too wide.

The mulch kit also has to be 26 inches.

I also contacted Husqvarna Canada in Vancouver, BC.  They reply back and said that they can not even order the 26 inch two bin bagger from Husqvarna US branch.  I was told that I would have to order the bagger on  ebay or ???

I even called a Weed Eater parts outlet in BC.  and even they can't order the 26 inch two bin bagger.

Hopefully someone else will have better luck than me in finding a Husqvarna dealer who sells the 2 bin bagger in Canada.
