I got my second replacement part for my mower on 2/17 and the bag was also marked with the correct part number but contained a 581473301 Blade Adapter instead. I called Husqvarna and they verified that this is the incorrect part for an HU800AWD and are going to send me the correct adapter 581851501 Blade Adapter from their stock and check what the problem is with their supply chain.

The USA site for Husqvarna doesn't provide a contact phone number for customer service but   1 (800) 487-5951  will get you to the main site and from there you can get North American support. I actually talked to the Canadian site

This may be a contributing factor in the reported 50% failure rate. Just got my replacement part and the bag had the correct part number on it but contained the wrong part( 581473301 Blade Adapter)  instead. hopefully people have been verify the correct part shipped before installing.

I believe my original failed because I got distracted while doing the end of season maintenance and didn't properly tighten bolt or bolt had worn from repeated reuse. With that in mind I also ordered a replacement bolt. When I install and use the part  in spring I will update with results.

I am including a review from Amazon that I think answers my questions and state why the failure of this blade adapter and ones of the same type for other mowers are failing

Before buying this part I read all the reviews I could find, here and elsewhere. About half of those were 1 star reviews. At first I thought the problem/difference was between the old and new parts. The old part being steel and the new is aluminum alloy. So I tried, in vain, to find the part locally. I wanted to physically put my hands on the part, I wanted to find the steel version. No luck. So, I spent some time searching the web. Again, no luck. I re-read all the reviews, noticing that one reviewer mentioned that their local dealer suggested torquing the blade bolt to 100 ft/lbs. For my mower, that's about 2.5 times the spec, per Husqvarna. A bit too much. But, it got me to thinking, all the 1 star reviews were essentially the same, in as far as not a single one mentioned using a torque wrench. So, I ordered the part, installed it, and torqued the bolt to spec (Husqvarna says 35-40 ft/lbs for the HU800AWD). I chose 40 ft/lbs. (Ft/lbs, not in/lbs) The bolt helps keep the shear pins from shearing. The tighter the bolt is, the more help. Anyways, I then fired up the mower, expecting the worst, but no worries. Mower worked great. We have a pretty good sized yard, about 3 hours of push mowing, and now it was about a week past due for a cut, a great test. Tall grass? Sticks? Reeds by the creek? Mowed it all. Easily! It mowed so nicely, the after-mowing-beer was even more satisfying and mellifluous! Moral of the story? Use a torque wrench. Cheers!

Thank You for your speedy reply.

I originally assumed I made an error during blade reinstall and may have . https://smile.amazon.com/Husqvarna-581851501-Blade-Adapter/product-reviews/B00TP18A5C/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_paging_btm_2?ie=UTF8&filterByStar=one_star&reviewerType=all_reviews&pageNumber=2#reviews-filter-bar

The problem that concerns me now is 50% of the reviews on Amazon of this replacement have experienced failure. There are multiple post on this site (Answer Army)  that discuss the problem with this adapter and indicate that the request for information has been escalated but contain no definitive solution .

My HU800awd is about 4-5 yrs old and this is the first time I have had this problem.  If you notice I included a picture of the replacement part that is offered from every vendor I have been able to find online. Is this the only part available from Husqvarna or is their an alternative part or a place to get one that matches the original quality ?  Most reviews state that the new replacement  is much softer (maybe Chinese made) than the original part. Have you ever installed a replacement adapter that was labeled Sintergy?

The original adapter is reported to be of better quality than this replacement. supposedly it had a separate key slot instead of it being part of the casting. Is this one available anywhere? The newly ordered part is labeled sintergy no matter which vendor I choose. Is this a genuine  Husqvarna part?

Has any remedy for this problem been found ?  Maybe I will be lucky when I get and  install this replacement but other adapters of this type from this company are having the same failure problem
