Warranty Question posted April 3, 2015 by Jell Oburger in Husqvarna: Ask & Answer > Chainsaws public
    Question:
Terrible customer support and service. Reposted from tech support forum as this is a warranty issue also.

I have a 550XP chainsaw, that turned 1 year old the day I took it in for service. The problem started one day after using the chainsaw as normal when it started to sputter and failed to restart. After a trip to the dealer, it was discovered the piston/ring had failed. I was told it was about $70 in parts to repair. The saw has been at the Husqvarna dealer for over 4 weeks now with no progress, no phone calls, no emails...nothing. I have the extended 2 year Husqvarna warranty and yet I keep getting the run around. First they blamed ME for improper fuel/oil mixture until I told them I use Husqvarna canned fuel and would be happy to show them the cans. Then it was a "bad gas" was the reason for the failure. They said that Husqvarna would not cover this repair. Then they reversed and said they now have a "Husqvarna Representative" John Bailey (sp) involved. Yet I've heard no positive news on when I will get back my working chainsaw. This is absolutely terrible customer service and neglect to stand behind the Husqvarna warranty. This has impacted a major project here at my property and had delayed other contractors from getting work completed. I had hoped that I would have got a response from Husqvarna like one of the following things 1) yes we will repair it ASAP under warranty. or 2) yes we will replace it with a new chainsaw. or 3) yes we will refund your money. But so far all I have is 4 weeks of no progress, being blamed for a failure and no hope of having a running chainsaw unless I spend even more money on Husqvarna. Being a 12 year customer of Husqvarna, this is a first. My last Husqvarna chainsaw lasted for over 10 years with ZERO problems. Additionally over the last 12 years, I've bought exclusively Husqvarna products, saws, blades, oil, gas, misc parts, helmets, chaps, hats, wedges, axes...you name it. I'm now at the point that I will never buy another Husqvarna products again, I will recommend to others NOT to buy their products and will give my money to Stihl instead as they seem to actually stand behind their product. Very disappointed after being a loyal customer for many years. All of this over $70 worth of parts.

General Product Question last edited November 27, 2013 by Jell Oburger in Husqvarna: Ask & Answer > Chainsaws public
    Question:
Just bought a brand new, in the box 550xp about 2 hours ago. Got it home, fueled up and won't start. Won't even turn over. Checked the manual 3 times to be sure I didn't miss anything special. Pulled it about 75 times and nothing. Now I've noticed what appears to be fuel leaking form the top of the muffler baffles. What's going on? Very close to just returning the whole thing and go buy a Stihl if a new Husqvarna won't start.
