Warranty Question posted August 5, 2011 by Doug Dennis
    Question:
What should I do about a brand new FT900 tiller that is leaking transmission fluid? There are two spots about the size of a quarter on the garage floor. I have had the tiller about three weeks but have not even put oil in the engine yet.

    Question:
I recently purchased a DRT 900H from Lowes. The tiller came in a crate and was simple to setup. Started easy-ran great, for about an hour. The transmission started making a terrible grinding sound. It occurrs even when in F and not tilling. Sounds like the same problem described in Troy Lynch of 4-16-11 email i just read. Is there an easy way to fix at home as it requires 120 miles to make 2 trips to your nearest warrenty dealer.

    Question:
    I just bought a DRT900E tiller.
The second time I had it out the handle lock stripped while I was tilling and it started bouncing like crazy.
I had it tight like it said to do.
I would like to know if it can be fixed.
Right now to use it, I had to put a nut on the backside to tighten it up.
I have not taken the handle out to see if it is the threads on it or the tiller that has stripped.

    Question:
I bought a drt900h and this was my second use .... It just squeeled and smoked like the tines were stuck after working normally for some time ...I cleaned it up and but could not figure out why when it is put under till conditions it grinds down to a stop. Is something broken in the tine drive? Could it be bent tines that work when not under pressure but jam under the weight of work.

Warranty Question posted October 4, 2014 by David Paladino
    Question:
I bought a Husqvarna CRT 900 tiller with a Briggs and Stratton engine. The engine failed due to a defective air filter after less than 6 hours of use. I did not receive a warranty for the engine at the time of sale from Lowe's on 6-24-13. I know that it is past a year from purchase but a ruined engine after only 6 hours is hard to understand. I used the tiller for weed control between the crop rows for about 30 min every 2 weeks. This spring maintenance I did not take the filter apart as the screen was clean and it had been used only 5 times last year. When it stopped working on Aug 8, I took the filter off to get at the carburetor and I found the entire inner surface coated with dirt as the paper accordion filter edges were not sealed and allowed the dirt to enter and ruin the engine. Is there anything I can do or is this just a live and learn situation?
    Thanks for the help.

    Question:
I have a DRT900H. It has a growling gear noise. When pushing it in neutral (engine off)it rolls for a bit and then slows down and makes a horrific noise like growling gears. I checked to see if it had grease in the transmission by removing the zirk fitting and probing with a thin wire. The wire showed a small amount of red grease. However, the zirk fitting was absolutely clean on the inside and on the back side. It had never been greased. This is a new unit. Does the factory grease these units before shipping? Did it miss the "add grease" operation?

    Question:
On my third use of my DRT900 tiller, I was having no trouble. Then when I tried to shift into forward tine motion, all of a sudden the shift lever moved too freely. Now it just moves any which way without any gear engagement. The engine starts fine but the rest of the machine will do nothing. I am highly frustrated that this new machine would break so suddenly and with no advance warning signs. I want this fixed, and fast. What will Husqvarna do to help me?

    Question:
First time I used my new DRT 900H it ate the belt up. I didn't get 10 feet. Dealer is 100 miles away and of little help. Pulleys are not aligned so I corrected that problem which should have been done at the factory. Who is going to buy the new belt??? Darrell Schoff a very unhappy customer!!!

    Question:
I have DRT900 that I purchased in March of last year. I am having issues with the shifting on the tiller. The gears no longer align with the shift indicator. Also I cannot get the tiller in reverse anymore. As you are shifting into tilling mode the forward and reverse till lock in way to the left. The middle portion is just very loose and the far right will get me into forward and neutral. Any idea what the issue maybe. I didn't want to tear into the transmission if it is under warranty.
