The first time I used it I was still on my first tank of gas when it stopped. The dealer said it had a problem with the decompression valve. The entire saw was rebuild and covered under warranty. I don't feel that it started like a new saw should and after another 3 tanks of gas it quit again. It's fixed. Said it was onlyl flooded. Like I said, I have cut wood for 35 years and it was more than just flooded. I oulled the plug and pulled it over several times then put in a new plug and it still wouldn't start. I would have been farther ahead if I had bought a homelite for a quarter the price!!!
Hi I just bought a 435 from Lowe's today. The saw runs great but there is one problem. The saw is missing its felling spike. It looks like there may have been one on there at one point since there is already threads where the screws would have gone. The display 435 at Lowe's had a spike attached to it. I was wondering if there is anyway you could send me one since I don't wan't to mess up the front of the saw buy having it rub against the wood I'm cutting. I also use the spike to allow the saw to have a pivot point while cutting. Its awkward using this saw with out one since the saw has no "grip" while cutting. It makes for unsafe operation. Thanks for your answer.
I purchased the saw from a seller on ebay, tdaautoparts ,they still have a few listed.
