General Product Question posted October 12, 2017 by Thomas Johnston
    Question:
I am getting my Husqvarna loaded up today to have warranty repair done on it at my local dealer. The snow blower was only used once in the two years since I bought it due to lack of snow. As I was getting my paperwork together (proof of purchase), etc. together to take to the dealer, I realized that I never received the $50 rebate that I was promised when I bought the machine. I filled out the rebate form the day the machine was delivered. I was very careful in filling out the form because rebate people are notorious for rejecting rebates for the tiniest error or omission on the rebate forms. I sent it in as required. As I said, today while getting my papers together, I realized that I never received the rebate. So I went to the website of the folks who handle the rebates but I couldn't pull up a record of my rebate application because they required that I type in a claim number which, of course, I don't have because that's something the rebate people would have provided but I've never heard from them.

I see others have had the same problem and Husqvarna denies responsibility and refers people to the rebate company who are useless. Husqvarna knows about this and does nothing about it so they are responsible. They can't push off responsibility to the people they hire to pay rebates.

I will never buy another Husqvarna product again because of this experience. That is, unless, in the extremely unlikely chance that Husqvarna makes good on their rebate process but I won't hold my breath.

General Product Question posted February 24, 2017 by David Sturdevant
    Question:
How can you justify charging $40.00 to rush the shipment of a drive cable for my ST 227 P Snow Thrower to a certified Husqvarna Dealer when it at the most might weigh a pound? Cables commonly break--your certified dealership should have them in stock.
    Details:

I own a ST227P Husqvarna Snow Thrower--I live in northern Maine. I purchased the snow thrower at SEARS which was a huge mistake in the first place. Since purchasing the snow thrower I have had a lot of issues with it.  Last year even though it was an extremely mile winter and using it only twice, major parts fell off of it while I used it and jammed in the impeller destroying it.  I took it to my certified dealer which took three weeks to get the parts and fix it only to find out they put the auger in backwards.

This year, I have used it three times and during a storm it just stopped propelling itself.  I quickly pulled off the back plate in found the tension spring on the drive cable snapped. Again I called my certified dealer AUBUCHON Hardware in Belfast, ME and asked they come and get the snow thrower to have it fixed.  After they had to snow thrower for three days I called to get an update on it.  The service manager stated he was just getting around to call and order the cable.  The middle of a winter in Maine and absolutely no sense of urgency on their part to get my snow thrower fixed and back to me.  He said he thought he would have the cable in seven days.  I asked him to ask them to send it priority thinking it wouldn't be more than $20.00.  To my surprise I get the bill and they charged me $40.00 to have the part shipped.  I called and spoke with a representative at Husqvarna today to see it the Certified Husqvarna Dealer was gouging me.  Your customer representative confirm it was Husqvarna that charged the $40.00 charge to ship the part.  Let me just say--I send boxes of food to my son who is stationed in Guam for less than you charge for a cable that weighs probably no more than a pound.  Your gouging your customers shipping parts that commonly break and should be held in stock by a certified dealer.  Honestly-purchasing your product is one of the worst purchases I have ever made.  I owned Husqvarna chainsaws and have not had any problems with them.  This snow thrower unfortunately is a lemon and I am not satisfied with the service of your company at all.  I would bring it back for a full refund if I could!

    Question:
online product registration does not work. Apparently I will get screwed out of $100 rebate.
Even mail in rebate requires registration.
What can I do to still get warranty?

    Question:
I purchased a Husqvarna ST227 P last night used it for a few hours. Works great. I have a question regarding the power steering controls is it possible to reverse the function of the trigger locks? So that they would be in the free wheel position while not holding them in? This would make the machine much easier to operate.

General Product Question posted February 10, 2017 by Mike Stockwell
    Question:
I have a Husky ST230E that is a couple seasons old and the machine infrequently stops pulling for a few moments when in use. Snow auger stays engaged with no hesitation. Happens in pretty much any gear, however, the lower gears are most noticeable. After a couple of seconds, it starts pulling again on it's own. Is this a loose belt that could be adjusted or part of the friction drive? Thanks, Mike
