    Bob Doyle again,

As to the power steering issue. I've had my machine to Jonal's of Greenfield Township, Pennsylvania and it was adjusted by them. The key to adjusting the cables is in the external bracket. As I understand it from Danny White who owns Jonal's. There is really nothing adjustable in the cable itself, it's THE BRACKET. He said "GENTLY" bend the bracket back towards the operator. He said probably you don't even need tools to correct. The bracket when the triggers are squeezed slightly bend (poor design of the bracket mounting to the machine). If you bend it back that causes the cable to pull away the piece that works the steering. if you picture it in your mind you can see how that would work.

In the off season he is going to weld support to the bracket to make it rigid which will stop the bracket from flexing when the steering triggers are squeezed.

He said he has made Husqvarnia aware of the steering problem and what he considers the problem (the way the bracket is mounted) . Also contacting Husqvarna directly reall is a hit a miss thing. They state their warranty in print and they also state it's the dealers duty to do warranty work. The poor fellow in one of these e-mails hopes they will do something for him after the warranty because the machine has a history of problems from day one. I wish him all the best of luck with that. Usually if it's out of warranty they don't budge, and that's just not them. it's ALL power equipment makers. It's a poor way to do business but they usually live by this practice.

    Hi Mike,

    Bob Doyle here.

I had a similar problem with my Husqvarna snow thrower. I just took it back to the servicing dealer that I purchased it from and he corrected and adjusted the steering on both sides of the machine. I'm not the handiest guy in the world so I took it in (under warranty). According to the tech, he said it was an adjustment which was simple. Simple to the point that he said I should be able to do that kind of adjustment if need ever be in the future. He explained what he did and it now steers perfectly! If you are a handy guy I'm told it's to bolts to get the cover off and I guess the rest is easy (if you understand how things like this work). OR in my case let a dealer adjust it for you. If your machine is new than I'll bet the repair will be under warranty. If not you can always ask the price before hand and then decide if you'd rather tackle it yourself.

Either way, it's an easy fix.

    Hope this helps you out!

    To whom it might concern,

I figured I better take the bull by the horns here with the answer to the power steering issue I have with the snow thrower. As to power steering issues. The dealer, Jonal's of Greenfield Township here in Pennsylvania repaired the problem. The problem, a simple adjustment. I'd be willing to bet that anyone else that has this type of problem it is probably an adjustment. A simple fix (cost free).

I also have these thoughts concerning other power equipment buyers I've read about here on this site. MY opinion is if you buy these machines from a big box store you are not getting the full advantage of your purchase. I have found that it has always been better to purchase from a SERVICING DEALER. Prices are the same as big box stores or really close. PLUS they will fix what they sell. If you buy from the big box stores you're going to have to go hat in hand to a servicing dealer to get it fixed and he's going to fix it, but I can assure you he'll take care of his customers first. Only makes sense if you think about it. Buying from the dealer makes sense, and I know this from experience.

    Hi Albert,

Just an update on the rebate. I received an e-mail letting me know I've met the requirements to receiving the rebate and I should receive the check in the next week or 2. Probably you will receive the e-mail when the check is ready to roll.

    Be well,

    Hi Albert,

Bob Doyle here, I too purchased the Husqvarna snowthrower with the $50 rebate. I called the 800 number last Tuesdayand the nice lady stated that the check was processed On January 7th and should post the 9th. So based on my experience I'd say it would take 6 weeks to process and maybe a week to post. I'd be glad to let you know when I receive the check.

    Regards,

    Bob
