    I have the same problem.

I've been cutting grass for 40 years and I've NEVER seen anything as bad as the HU775BBC.

    It just doesn't work.

This model Husqvarna is most certainly a bad piece of engineering.

Blade doesn't cut grass low enough.

Engine vibrates violently unless the blade brake is engaged (causing me to start the engine with the blade enagaged)

Excessively heavy machine & poor self-propelled power.

Loose grass catcher assembly. Too narrow for receivers on both sides.

Poorly seamed grass catcher. Not very durable at all. I concur with you.

Throttle makes little difference on self-propelled feature. Up-slope? You'll need to push to go up -- and on a 10-degree slope? Ridiculous.

Bad purchase on my part. I trusted the good Husqvarna name. Next time, I'll research the problems with machinery before I pull the trigger.

Bad engineering, no doubt about it. I'm taking my HU775BBC back to Lowes this evening. Hopefully they'll take care of my malfunctioning machine. My blade brake MUST be engaged in order to start my mower -- IF -- I don't want the mower to vibrate itself apart.

Makes little sense to me why the blade brake being ON would smooth the engine & blade.... nor why the blade brake being OFF would cause such radical vibrations of the engine assembly.

Like I said, back to Lowes it goes.

Consider yourself lucky. When I start my HU775BBC without the blade brake engaged (i.e., as designed), the engine looks like it wants to shake itself off the mower body.

I've never seen anything like this.

And then, when I engage the blade brake, the mower smooths-out. Is that weird or what?

I'm taking my mower back to Lowes this evening. Hopefully the folks who repair these things will help me out. We'll see.

    I hear you.

When I try to start my HU775BBC without the blade engaged, the engine looks like it will vibrate off the mower chassis.

    Unbelievable.

I've owned a few walk behind self-propelled mowers.  This is best looking, but worst performing machine I've ever had.

The HU775BBC does the following weird things:

    1. clumps grass -- even when you're going slow -- and when the grass is not very high (maybe cutting a half-inch of grass; perhaps an inch).

    2. Blade brake -- absolutely weird.  I can't start my mower with the blade brake OFF, because when I do, the machine shakes itself apart. So, I'm forced to keep the blade brake engaged when cranking it, and then, the motor and blade are smooth. Weird? You betcha.

    3. Bagger -- the pins that hold the bag onto the handle frame are not wide enough to fit snugly in-between the bag receiver assembly. This is called bad engineering.

    4. Blade brake hand-control mechanism -- VERY oddly designed hand mechanism and near dysfunctional lack of mechanical advantage. Almost doesn't work.

    5. HEAVY machine -- and poor self-propelled function.

    6. Blade height adjustment -- does not go low enough. Not even close.

Summary:  My Husqvarna string trimmer (straight shaft) is absolutely a world-class piece of equipment. Likewise, any number of other Husqvarna products are truly excellent. This product however (i.e., the HU775BBC) is a dud.

Wish I could return it. Too late. As-is, I'll be lucky to have Lowes accept it under the 3-year warranty for repair (hopefully) of the vibrating disengaged brake clutch mechanism.

Would like them to reengineer the machine while in repair. Lol

    Same problem here in Tennessee.

I've tried max speed of the engine/blade and as slow as I can walk, yet I get the same result -- clumped grass.

    Kind of ridiculous.

The thing that blows me away about this Husqvarna mower is that it looks sensational. Good looking design. 1-step height adjustment (but it doesn't go low enough), and a self-propelled function that really doesn't push the power along very well, and a blade brake that has a tendency to shake the machine back and forth violently -- but when it is NOT engaged.

    Very strange machine.

Same problem in Tennessee. I've never seen such an excellently designed one-handled height adjustment that doesn't go low enough.

    Odd.
