I purCHASED a Husqvarna walk behind lawn mower model 7921R...Answeredescalated1
Service & Maintenance Question last edited February 10, 2012 by paul haynes
I purCHASED a Husqvarna walk behind lawn mower model 7921R last summer and it has now been taken in for service twice for the same problem. The time the service manager at Modern Farm Equipt in Fulton Mo said he would route the cable a different way so it would not kink when the handle was lowered for storage. Well its been in the shop for two weeks and they still do not have the part. Last time we were charged over $100.00 for the part and this time I told them this must be a design fault they refuse to eat the cost of repair. I called Husqvarna they said I needed a second opinion well i am not about to pick up the lawn mower and drive 20 miles to an authorized service center to get a second opinion. The comapny will not even call Modern Farm and find out what is going on. The manager of Modern Farm told me i could use the lawn mower with one cable but I would have to push a self-propeled lawn mower no thanks to that idea. Modern farm does not even call back to let me know if they will eat the cost or not. I would not recommend Modern Farm or Husqvarna to anyone. Stay away from both.

Service & Maintenance Question last edited February 10, 2012 by Richard Berardini
I have a Sears self propelled lawn mower with a Tecumseh engine with a solid state ingnition on it. Unfortunately I hit a rock and broke the crankshaft soft key. In replacing the soft key, is there a timing procedure to go thru or do I just line up the keyway in the crank shaft and magneto and it is automatically timed. I understand the air gap between between the mageto magnets and the ingnition modual must be .012 inches. It is at .003 inches. Would this prevent it from showing any spark when I try grounding the plug? Is there anything else that needs attention before I reassemble the engine. Also it does not appear to be getting gas to the cylinder. The spark plug does not get wet when I pull the starter rope.
Thank you, Richard Berardini There is no charge for answers to these questions, is that correct?

I just bought the HU800HW Lawn Mower on 5/13/11. Because of the rain, I wasn't able to give is a good try until this past weekend. I have noticed that the Grass catch bag is already coming apart, where the rear mesh is sewn to the bottom hard plastic. At this rate, the bag might last one season. I can't believe that is normal for this mower.....especially since there is no side exit. What do I do to get a replacement bag? Is this going to happen with a new bag? It seems that when the bag is getting full it isn't far from the ground......so when turning the mower to go in the opposite direction I imagine the rear of the bag does rub on the ground. Is this just a bad design?? I used a Murray mower for years & the only problem I saw was the bag started to rip where it hit the bag support frame.
Thanks in advance for your help & direction with this problem!!

Service & Maintenance Question last edited February 10, 2012 by Darrel Smith
I purchased a new XT722FE lawn mower from Bomgaars on 6-19-2010. This mower has a keystart. Form day one I had trouble starting this mower. I talked to the manager of the Bomgaars store about this and he indicated a few things to check, such as too much oil in it. The amount of oil was what came with it from the dealer. When the mower did start it would smoke and backfire and run rough for a few minutes. Sometimes I would have to start it with the rope. Finally in late Sept he said he would send it in under warranty to get it fixed. When it came back they said they had to clean the automatic choke and there was a bill of $33.00. It still wouldn't start and this was observed by the store manager. He said he would send it back, which he did about three weeks ago. I checked with him yesterday and he said it still wasn't repaired and he had no idea what the problem was. I have no idea how the automatic choke could have gotten dirty in the length of time I had the mower, and that evidently was not the problem with the engine. Whatever the problem is it should be covered under the warranty. Please advise why it is taking so long and why there is so much problem with this mower. Darrel E. Smith

Service & Maintenance Question last edited February 10, 2012 by HusqvarnaAnswerArmy Silver
When the grass bag is full, and I try to run the lawn mower up the hill of our lawn, the self-propelled system does not seem to have enough torque to drive the wheels. Hill is approx. 30-40 degree incline. Wheels do not spin or slide, they just will not turn. Is t here a way to increase the belt tension to increase the wheel torque. We just got the lawn mower yesterday and used it for the first time, so the drive belt is brand new, and will only get worse with time and use.

I have a Husqvarna lawn Mover (walk behind, serial number 110909M000607) That is brand new (only used 3 times). It will not run unless the choke is wedged open all the way. Please provide assistance.

Also, this mower did not have an air filter in it (just noticed that today). Should it and if so, what is the model number and type I should get.

    Thank you.

We purchased a model 7021P Walk Behind Mower and have a question. Is there any way to adjust the mowing height other than the adjustment lever? One level is a little too short and the next is a little to long. We noticed that a 9-position adjuster may be available on some models. Is it possible to retrofit this adjuster to our mower? Is it available for purchase?

Service & Maintenance Question last edited February 10, 2012 by HusqvarnaAnswerArmy Silver
I just bought a brand new Husqvarna self-propelled 173cc walk behind lawn mower (model # 917.377231) from Sears. I love the mower but sometimes it's hard to start. When it's cold it takes a couple of pulls to start (not what a person wants from a brand new mower). When I shut it off after mowing for a while and then restart it, it putters. I then shut it off again and restart it until it's starts correctly.

I need to know what's going on and if there's a choke system with this mower (I don't see one). I also need to know if I should bring it back to Sears for repair.
