Warranty Question posted November 3, 2012 by Phillip Ridgway
    Question:
I have a Poulan Pro PP4218AVX chain saw. Family 9PWES.0424CN/42cc:EM, SN/09125D401927-2:(10:54), Model PP4218AVX 802145. I purchased this saw from Lowe's sometime around the end of 2010. The gas cap has been very difficult to remove and replace since the middle of last year. I have replaced the cap and it now has the same problem. I see that others are having similar problems with theirs. Is this covered under warranty? As a side note I have friends that are having similar problems with plastic gas tanks on their motorcycles and attribute it to the ethanol in the fuel and the tank expanding. Could this be the problem here and do you have any suggestions on how to mitigate the expansion?

    Question:
Purchased the Poulan Pro PP4218A from Lowes in March. It would not stay running after it warmed up, did maybe 2 hrs worth of work. Next time I used it, same issue. I was beyond the 30 day return policy for Lowes. I called Poulann and took it their authorized center. After 3 weeks I got it back with them teling me the fuel line was loose? When I took it out for another job it would not start at all, wouldnt even fire. Took it back to the same service center and they now tell me the cylinder is scored, it must be due to wrong gas/oil mixture and warranty doesn't cover. Of course Inever had it running so tha makes no sense. Called Poulan and of course they said they dont cover this repair.

Warranty Question posted July 2, 2014 by Aaron Box
    Question:
I purchased a PP5020AV Chainsaw on 10/19/1012. I used the saw approximately 10 times in light home use, always using clean, stabilized fuel at the right mix. I have babied this saw, emptying it when not in use, always storing it clean and dry in its case, using sharp chain, etc. To be clear, I hardly used the thing in the time I have had it.

This spring, I was cutting and when I stopped the saw it would not start. Tried checking filter, plug and then took to the location of purchase, Jerry's Home Improvement to be looked at.

The initial tech at the store confirmed there was no fuel issues visible, and that something deeper must be wrong, so it was sent to their people for testing and repair.

I have since been informed that it has low compression and this is somehow not covered under warranty. It was suggested to me that the cause was wrong gas or something I did. This is ridiculous to say the least.

Further, the gentlemen I spoke with who broke the bad news suggested it was his experience that I was better off to buy a different band of saw than fix my Poulan Pro.

Please tell me how I can get a hold of a local PP rep to deal with my situation. I have been a fan of your products, owning a tiller as well, and previously two other PP saws. If this is not resolved I will not purchase another PP item and will warn others against doing so.

I tried calling the number provided for Customer Service and had no way of speaking to a live person. Please advise me on how to proceed.

    Question:
    Hello,
I just purchased a PP5020AV. When using it the first time I noticed that the chain would not tighten. I opened the clutch cover and the Bar Adjustment Pin came out in two pieces. (Part # 530015826) Is it possible to get a replacement without bringing the saw in for repair?

    Question:
I purchased a PP5020AV on 11/07/2013. The first time I used it the chain popped off 3 times in ten minutes. Then the start assist spring broke so I took it back. Used the replacement once that day, seemed OK. I used it again yesterday 01/11/2014, chain off again this time chain will not rotate on bar, it appears twisted and binding up. Lowe's return limit is 30 days.
My question is, is this covered under warranty? Will this be the last Poulan product I ever buy, and will this be the last time I ever shop at Lowe's? Before you tell me to check the brake...Duh. The CHEAP BAR AND CHAIN IS THE PROBLEM. What are my options?

    Question:
I just purchased a Class a Poulan Pro 50 5020AV. I couldn't get it to idle and run for any extended period of time a week ago when I received it. I tried to start it today and it's like the motor is locked up. I understand I have a 30 day warranty. Where can I take this to get it serviced under warranty nearby? My zip code is 37015.
