Service & Maintenance Question posted July 29, 2014 by charles ziegler
    Question:
why hasn't Husqvarna stepped up and fixed my failed deck. Either by replacing the new unit, deck or some other solution?
    Details:

bought a mz5424sr with bagger, from Stines in Lafayette, LA,  after waiting two months for it to come in.  before the first month was over and on the second cutting, the grass diverter spot weld on the starboardt/right side failed, the blade cot caught in the diverter, the unit would not operate.  after several attempts I was able to find Viator's Performance, who is a repair facility for Husqvarna.  Viator was not sure it was a warranty item and agreed to look at it, he found a broken spindle and the bent and loose diverter.   Husqvarna agreed to put a new deck on the unit, but it was back ordered.  Two months have passed and the grass keeps growing.  I had to replace the spindle(s) at my expense,  get the deck welded, at my expense, so the already bent blades would not get damaged more.  Husqvarna has not agreed to replace the blades either.  still no deck.

All of this has taken a considerable amount of time.  I am loosing faith and enthusiasm in Husqvarna.  I am unable to speak to anyone other than third parties who have no solutions.  The deck is on back order.  The grass keeps growing.  and Husqvarna has only made promises to fix or replace certain parts that were broken or damaged when the weld failed.

I am yet to find a way to talk directly to Husqvarna, it is always a third part who is sympathetic but has no solutions.

Z246 ZTR control arm will not stay in brake position.Model Z246
    Product 967323902
    Details:

Z246 ZTR control arm will not stay in brake position. Is there anyway to tighten this up? Anyone know where to find an online manual that would have this? Also my headlight is not working and apparently never has. Is it supposed to be on all the time? In addition when I moved all the anti scalp wheels to their heights settings 1 of them rubs on the mower deck reinforcement trim piece and I had to remove it so the wheel would turn.

Z254 parking brake fails to hold mower on hill.1
Service & Maintenance Question posted September 3, 2017 by Jules Bartow
    Question:
Z254 parking brake fails to hold mower on hill.
    Details:

No amount of force on the handles locks the tires in place.  The zero turn mower drifts down the hill whether I'm sitting on it or not.

If you know how to adjust to make it stay I'll give you a big hug and kiss if you tell me --even if you're really ugly, but not if you don't shower regularly and stink.  Then I'll buy you a coffee at McDonalds or WaWa, but not at Starbucks.

Service & Maintenance Question posted August 7, 2018 by Grampy Marc
    Question:
Zero Turn 246i with SmartSwitch, Endurance Briggs and Stratton, Less than 15hrs.

After cutting lawn, I heard a loud buzzing sound from engine area. I determined it was coming from Starter. I lifted seat and disconnected Negative Cable and buzzing stopped... While seat was in raised position, I touched Battery Negative and the motor started to spin. I let mower sit overnight and now, when i touch negative nothing happens. Any idea what happened to the starter/bendix while i cut grass and "locked" it in the start engine mode? Hope my explanation helps...
