    Question:
I have a Husqvarna Z246. Had for about a year now. Like the machine. No issues so far. Other than filling up the tank on every cut, does anyone have an idea for a gas gauge? I thought about cutting a hole on the inside of the fender to see the gas tank. Or should I just look inside and see where the lever is? Wasn't sure if the was an aftermarket cap with a gauge. Hope not too silly of a question...

    Question:
I purchased a Husqvarna Z246 zero turn summer 2017. I was told that there may be a service bulletin concerning the adjustment of the throttle cable since I have a difficult time starting the unit from cold position. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    Question:
I have a Husqvarna Z246 zero turn. Purchased it summer of 2017. When I initially start the mower, I place the throttle to the fast position, cold position. The engine cranks for a bit the eventually starts. I asked this question last year and was told that there is an adjustment for the throttle cable to eliminate the starting from the cold position. Can anyone assist me with this? Thank you

    Question:
    Hard Starting...
    Details:

I purchased new a Husqvarna Z246 zero turn in July.  Love the mower.  However, upon initial starting in normal weather, it will crank over a while before starting.  I know there isnt a choke on this model and there is some type of "easy starting".  I have tried starting with the throttle in the fast position, the slow position, and even the snowflake position, and still just cranks until it eventually starts and will even smoke a bit.  When I have cut for a bit, and shut the mower off, and the engine is hot/warm, it fires up immediately.  I do use the gas shut off after each mow meaning I shut it off.  I do turn it on a few minutes prior to the initial start.

Could shutting the gas off and not opening it way before I start it have anything to do with the issue?  Again, after the mower is warm, fire up is in a second...

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

    Question:
Husqvarna Z246, 3-4 months old. Briggs 20 hp. I know there is no choke on the mowers, but is the correct way to start is just to put the throttle at full and turn the key? I do that and it takes a couple of key tunrs to get it started. This is only from cold start, fuel is just turned on from being shut off from the last mow. After I mow a bit and shut off, the restart is immediate. Just normal???

    Thanx

    Question:
I have a z246 zero turn. I have posted the problem: The mower blade spindle will not take grease. did the grease fitting replacement and deducted that the issue is in the mandrel. the mower is 3 months old and under warranty but i already purchased an oem madrel and the spindle came with it. question is how to i change the madrel? the 4 holes are not threaded. do i use the existing 4 screws to self tap into the new madrel? can i actually tap new threads with a tap and die set? I thought about just replacing the spindle portion but what if the grease defect is in the mandrel since i was told the mandrel may have but drilled incorrectly. thank you

Service & Maintenance Question posted September 6, 2017 by Tom Johnson in Husqvarna: Ask & Answer > Zero Turn Mowers public
    Question:
I purchased the Z246 about 2 1/2 months ago. After reading, I decided to lubricate the grease fittings. All of the fittings took grease except for the throttle side of the deck spindle. I swapped fittings and still, it would not take any grease. The fitting was removed and placed in the grease gun and the gun pushed greased. Could there be a blockage in the spindle? Kinda wondering...

Service & Maintenance Question posted September 5, 2017 by Tom Johnson in Husqvarna: Ask & Answer > Zero Turn Mowers public
    Question:
I have a Z246, about 2 months old. I read somewhere that the mower usually doesn't have full grease and "just enough" from the factory. My first mistake was to use a mini grease gun. Went through 3 tubes and still saw no grease coming out. My neighbor loaned me his full size and after a few pumps, the grease came out. I greased both spindles, both front wheels, and "tried" to lubricate the blade spindles. The left side took the grease well but didnt see anywhere where it came out. The throttle side would not take any grease. I took the grease fitting off, attached it to the gun and it came out. screwed it back in, would not take any. I did have issues with the end of the gun completely attaching to the fitting AND THEN had the hardest time getting it off. Any ideas please...

    Question:
I purchased a Z246 about 2 months ago. It has a B&S 20 hp. One part of the manual says change oil after 10 hours. Im thinking of doing that but again, the manuals are off. Do I go by the B&S manualfor part numbers? I am trying to replace the orange colored oil filter and oil. One part says 30 weight oil, another part says 10W30, cany anyone tell me whee to get actual OEM replacement part numbers for filter etc.?

    Thanx

Service & Maintenance Question posted August 12, 2017 by Tom Johnson in Husqvarna: Ask & Answer > Zero Turn Mowers public
    Question:
I have Husqvarna Z246. Had it about a month. Getting used to it! As far as cleaning the mower deck, manual strictly says no water on the deck top. Can you explain why. I usually blow the top off and if I do use water, I will always blow the excess water off. And as far as the hose adapter on the deck to to clean the underside, is it really effective? I slid under the deck the other day and the bottom was not very clean and very wet. can I stick to old fashioned putty knife and elbow grease when it dry?
    Thank you.
