They use lock nuts on those.  It sounds like you need new lock nuts.

Sounds like the PTO either at the switch or where the wire connects at the PTO has a short/loose connection.  I would think one of the non-existant Husqvarna "Experts could answer your question by starting their reply with, "I would like to first of all apologize for the situation you are experiencing", or the old token "It is upsetting that you have experienced this problem with the_____________ substitute problem/part here".

Sadly between the folks at their "Support Center" and I am using that phrase very loosely and the random answers to questions the "experts" decide to grace their presence, within this forum, you may be better off trying another equipment forum.  I understand that most questions I will have to find another "ARMY" to  ANSWER.  I get in this day in age no one wants to deal with anyone after the sale especially for a non-commercial piece of equipment.  However, if you are going to train the youngsters at the call center to direct everything to the AnswerArmy.com website maybe you should have a few people actually troll the site and occassionally help your customers.  Maybe this should be called an "Army of One" self help forum.

It's on the left side (drivers) on the main frame tube. White sticker with black type print.  Just behind and under the hand brake.

    Good luck,

    Guys,

I too have had the same problem with my brand new RZ4623. After some experimentation it seems like the exhaust shield isn't wide enough to deflect the hot gases that are exiting out of the left side. There is an "optional" exhaust shield that really should be installed on all new mowers! If you are like me you and don't drop the mowing deck.  As such the grass in your yard is much taller than the average yard that looks like crap in the summer. I called customer service and they did send me one, eventually. Husqvarna part # 575262002.

Kinda disappointing from a safety perspective. If it's hot enough to burn wet grass, wait till it gets dry again.

Update the part is still on back order, July 16, 2013 AD, in case it never shows up and some paleontologist digs this post up. Charles

Update the part came in today 07/24/2013.  It looks like a rectangulr piece of black metal similar to the current heat shield with four holes in the middle and one corner a square notch is cut out.

Get this I called "Customer Support", explained I received the part but there were no instructions with it.  Her answer, "Sir, when we ship out parts we expect that YOU KNOW ENOUGH to be able to install it!  HA and friendly too! (Sarcasm dripping).  I went on to explain since this was an "optional" part not already on the mower and that since Husqvarna nor any other parts supplier had an image ANYWHERE on the net or a schematic/blow up of said part on Husqvarna's own literature and that I called no less than six dealers no one has ever seen this thing!  I went on to tell her that since I was unable to locate a picture or find a dealer that new anything about it, that maybe I should called the company that made it.  She repeated her earlier comment so I left her off the hook by saying, "If you do not know how to install it that's ok I'll figure it out on my own.

    AMAZING!!!!!

+1 yes like maybe some rubber bushings to isolate some engine vibration.

Sounds like the 50 hour interval kicked in the "change engine oil" reminder.

    Greg P,

I was wondering the same thing as Mr. Baxton. Does anyone have a picture of the "optional" exhaust cover? It really should be included with the mower. I can't believe after the brief research I've done and this problem with burned grasses is more common than I am comfortable with. I am a firefighter by trade and to see this kind of burn after only a fractions of a second is disconcerting to say least. After the last few years of drought throughout most of the country this kind of heat coming from an exhaust should never be an after thought, rather I would prefer Husqvarna (and to be fair) other OEM's be proactive rather than reactive.

I own an RZ4623, "optional" mulch kit, "optional" arm rests & "optional" light kit.

Oh I added a TORO TimeCutter Engine Guard from Home Depot, it was $39 shipped to store.  i had to drill two holes in the tubular frame, no biggie.

I alled today and they said they shipped the part 575 26 20-02 yesterday.  Been on backorder for more than a month.  We will see.  I'll try and post a picture of it on here when it comes in.

    Thank you for any help,

    Charles
