    345FR Assembly Instructions, Locking Pin1
Service & Maintenance Question posted September 26, 2017 by Robert Cole
    Question:
    345FR Assembly Instructions, Locking Pin
    Details:

The instructions say "Insert the locking pin (C) in the hole to lock the shaft." I inserted the locking pin in the magnetized hole, but it does not lock the shaft. I have tried turning the shaft clockwise and anticlockwise to try to get it to lock, but no such luck. Is there a trick to locking the shaft so I can install the blade?

    Question:
Brand New 555fx just won't start.
    Details:

I assembled everything and for once, actually read the directions thoroughly because of the potential dangers with this tool. I put in the Husqvarna 50:1 special gas and tried for about 20 minutes to start it with no success. Didn't even think about firing. Did what the lame manual directions said to do for a cold start with no results. Tried all sorts of combinations. Prime, choke, pull. Choke Prime pull. Hold the throttle in while pulling. I almost feel like there must be some on switch somewhere but I can't find one. The manual talks about putting the stop switch in the on position but it's already automatically there. You can put the switch to the off position but if you let go, it goes to back.

Am I missing something here? It's gotta be something that I'm missing. Help!

    Question:
Can the cutter head/gear assy be used in or around shallow water?
    Details:

I have the 336fr model.  works great. I will be clearing some invasive species shore grass in the very near future. .The grass (which grows up to 7 feet high) goes out into the water several feet from shore in about 3 to 4 inches of water max. The grass growing on shore obviously wont be a problem, but i would like to know if im safe using this unit cutting the stuff at water level. Even if im very careful, im sure the cutting head/gear assy will at some point be in the water..Is that ok as long as i check the grease reservoir after im done to make sure no water has gotten inside it? thankyou for your time al in kalamazoo mich.

Complaint: I have purchased 3 Husqvarna weed eaters from...escalated
General Product Question posted July 21, 2013 by elly gilmore
    Question:
    Complaint:
I have purchased 3 Husqvarna weed eaters from your company through Lowe’s in Meridian MS.
The first one I purchased on 14 Mar 2010, had to return it and purchased a new one same make and model on 5 May 2011. Then I purchased the 3rd one on 14. Mar 2012. This one too is broken after a little more than 1 year use. The following information is provided regarding Model, etc.
    Family/DISP BPWES.0284 TC 28CC:OC; Model # 128CD; SKU# 952711952; SN# 11349N10013.
I am totally disappointed in your product and I would expect that you would produce a quality product. Lowe’s is not able to take the weed eater back since the purchase date is more than 1 year. However, the weed eater continues to shut down after 3 to 5 minutes. The fuel filter and the carbonator have been checked and that is not the problem. The equipment is used frequently so there is no possibility of the gasoline gumming up. Again, I am totally disappointed and I am asking for your assistance to help me with this situation. I currently do not have the money to purchase another weed eater and I would really have to think to purchase another Husqvarna. I was always under the impression that your company stood behind their products.
I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. My e-mail address is: elly_gilmore06@yahoo.com. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    Sincerely,

    Elly Gilmore

Differences between the 336FR and 345FR brushcutters? Can...
General Product Question posted December 4, 2015 by Brahma Nathaswami
    Question:
Differences between the 336FR and 345FR brushcutters?

Can someone tell me the key differences between the 336FR and 345FR brushcutters?

I studied the online specs and can see that that 336FR has only 35 cc engine displacement, 1.9HP and 20 CC of fuel and weighs 15 lb...

VS 345FR which has 45cc engine displacement, 2.8 HP and a better harness, weighs 18+ pounds. BUT what I cannot see from the specs are any other important differences. Does the 336 have the easy conversion head also?

I wanted to get the 345FR because we have a serious have bush sometimes here at our place in Hawaii and the 336FR has less horsepower than my small 338XP chainsaw...someone else is telling me that "I think the 336FR would be good enough..." But I worry that it could bog down when we come up again the base of things like really mature guinea grass... near the ground this grass has stems 3/4" think...all in one clump... is almost like a small clump of bamboo... for things like that I'm think we really need the 345FR power... plus I have a bad back and that harness for the 345 looks really good!

Also, are there any other attachments we can use on the 345FR? (like a tiller or sweeper...) It certainly has the power to run other attachments. Are there other differences between the two machines that are not mentioned in the online specs?

    Question:
Do you have any other handles that can be purchased that are wider for the Husqvarna 343FR brushcutter? My son finds the range of motion much smaller than with the old handles from his 34R.
    Thanks Marilyn
