The instructions say "Insert the locking pin (C) in the hole to lock the shaft." I inserted the locking pin in the magnetized hole, but it does not lock the shaft. I have tried turning the shaft clockwise and anticlockwise to try to get it to lock, but no such luck. Is there a trick to locking the shaft so I can install the blade?
I assembled everything and for once, actually read the directions thoroughly because of the potential dangers with this tool. I put in the Husqvarna 50:1 special gas and tried for about 20 minutes to start it with no success. Didn't even think about firing. Did what the lame manual directions said to do for a cold start with no results. Tried all sorts of combinations. Prime, choke, pull. Choke Prime pull. Hold the throttle in while pulling. I almost feel like there must be some on switch somewhere but I can't find one. The manual talks about putting the stop switch in the on position but it's already automatically there. You can put the switch to the off position but if you let go, it goes to back.
Am I missing something here? It's gotta be something that I'm missing. Help!
I have the 336fr model. works great. I will be clearing some invasive species shore grass in the very near future. .The grass (which grows up to 7 feet high) goes out into the water several feet from shore in about 3 to 4 inches of water max. The grass growing on shore obviously wont be a problem, but i would like to know if im safe using this unit cutting the stuff at water level. Even if im very careful, im sure the cutting head/gear assy will at some point be in the water..Is that ok as long as i check the grease reservoir after im done to make sure no water has gotten inside it? thankyou for your time al in kalamazoo mich.
