There seems to be a design flaw in the HU800AWD in what I...escalated3100%
General Product Question posted July 15, 2013 by Dean Goad
    Question:
There seems to be a design flaw in the HU800AWD in what I will call for now the rear door baffle insert(the half moon shaped plastic piece on the inside of the rear door). It is the exact same size on the smaller mowers(which seem to be flush with the mowing chamber) as the AWD but the AWD has extra length in the rear body(probably to accomodate the AWD for the rear)which causes clippings to build up while mulching then drop out all at once. This is not right. It would seem that this model needs it own rear baffle insert rather than using the same one from the smaller mowers. Yes, I took it to a dealer to have it checked out and they said everything was fine other than the R.P.M.'s were a little low so they set them to factory specs. and they called Husqvarna about the rear baffle insert and Husqvarna's response to me was to send a copy of the tip sheet from the manual about not mowing more than one third the length of the grass and suggested trying to mow skinnier strips in the lawn. 1) My mower is set to 3 inches and I try not to let it get longer than 4 inches. 2) Husqvarna can NOT leagally advertise a mower as a 22inch then suggest to only mow 11 inches at a time(this suggestion was just plain insulting and does NOTHING to solve the problem), besides, I tried it anyways and it still does not help. Grass clippings still amass on the newly created rear shelf of the AWD mower then spit out randomly when the shelf gets full rather than evenly dispersing them like it should(but it DID leave only 40 piles of lawn killing spots of mulch piles rather than 80). So my questions are these 1) How can this be fixed? and 2) How do I contact Husqvarna directly when you have abosolutly nothing to offer to fix this problem? Even if a proper sized rear door baffle insert would impede clippings from going into the bag(which I don't think it would), a spring loaded version that would retract when the rear door is lifted should'nt be that hard to come up with. Forgive my frustration but I'm about at my wits end. I paid alot of extra money for this mower over other brands and models and my expectations of how it should work(as a mulcher in this case) are NOT way out from left field in my estimation, not to mention that the call center refuses to give out any direct numbers to Husqvarna or any useful advise in this case and even the dealer gave me the run around(they held onto the mower for about a week before they even called Husqvarna and ONLY after I called them back) and even lied on the reciept, they wrote "test drive in lawn ok".. There is not a single blade of grass on their property. I asked when I came in so I could show them what was happening but they said then that they did'nt have any grass yet still put it on the bill they they did check it out on the lawn.

    Husqvarna selling dangerous part.6100%
General Product Question posted May 5, 2017 by donldmn
    Question:
    Husqvarna selling dangerous part.
    Details:

I purchased a HU800AWD mower less than a year ago. I used it for two months and took great care of it.

The first time I used it this year the blade flew out the bottom of the mower. I am completely fine repairing the mower myself but the genuine OEM part seems to be just as dangerous. After reading the reviews for this part I'm surprised that this mower/part has not been recalled.

This part is still being sold which is just negligent.

I need a new blade adapter for my mower that is not a death trap.

    Part # for reference: 581851501

WALK BEHIND MOWER - GRASS CATCH PROBLEM1100%
General Product Question posted September 13, 2015 by cindy casale
    Question:
WALK BEHIND MOWER - GRASS CATCH PROBLEM
    Details:

I have a HU675AWD model walk behind mower. The grass catch bag on one side has double fabric which catches grass and dust in between the fabric. No clue why they doubled the fabric on one side. I called Customer Service, she said she could not replace the bag and said just return the mower where you purchased it. I took it back to Lowes and the guy said they can't just replace the catch bag, so to get it replaced I had to have them send it to the repair center in Atlanta from Alabama. So I went to pick it up a week later, it came back with the same bag on it, WOW shocking (not really!!), even though the service ticket explained the problem. But it did come back with scratches on the top, lovely. So the guy at Lowes went and took a bag from another mower which was the same bag I had. Needless to say, the same issue occurred, the double side full of dust and grass again. I removed it from the metal frame and there is no way to get the stuff out, so I guess I will just cut the inside second layer of fabric. I emailed Husqvarna and after a month NO RESPONSE from Customer Service. I only used the mower 6 times when this started happening, and about 6 more uses the front wheel disengages while mowing and grass is spewing out the top of the grass catcher are right towards my face. I would never buy this brand again, horrible customer service on a new mower and too many issues with a new mower. Yes I am thinking of returning it before the one year is up.

General Product Question posted May 21, 2014 by Jim Loeffelman
    Question:
I am looking at purchasing either the HU800AWD or the HU725AWD push mower. Can you please explain to me why I should consider spending about $100 more for a lawn mower just because it has a Honda Engine? Are their any other difference between the mowers? BTW I have about an acre of grass to cut with small hills on both sides of my house. I primarily use a Husqvarna Fast Tractor to cut most of my yard, but I use the push mower to due cutting around obstacles and a hill behind my house. Also I do preform annual maintenance per manufactures recommendation so typically I do not have engine issues. I am replacing my current mower because the drive system is no longer working.

Where/how do you achieve the 9 position cutting with the 5...escalated100%
General Product Question posted July 23, 2013 by scott tucholsky
    Question:
Where/how do you achieve the 9 position cutting with the 5 height settings on a model 7021p walk behind lawnmower? Can you raise the rear wheel height by one setting, & leave the front set lower to achieve the 9 cutting heights? What are the cutting height levels (not range) for each of the settings
    Details:
The product description clearly mentions 9 cutting positions. The model as well as the description only have 5 positions. What the individual heights for each position? Link to product description on website(9 cutting positions) & cutting height increments (5) /images/us/products/lawn-mowers/7021p/#specifications

General Product Question posted July 10, 2013 by Peter Bengelsdorf
    Question:
"The engine speed was set at the factory for optimum performance. Speed is not adjustable." --Page 6, Husqvarna 7021P lawn mower owner's manual. "For better grass bagging and most cutting conditions, the engine speed should be set in the fast position." --Page 8, same manual.
Is the engine speed adjustable or not?

I have a Husqvarna walk behind mower that is so poorly...escalated100%
General Product Question posted May 3, 2013 by Douglas Bray
    Question:
I have a Husqvarna walk behind mower that is so poorly designed that I hate to use it. Unfortunately I paid so much for it that I'm stuck with it. Besides i would be ashamed to sale it to someone else. I bought this mower because my daughter wanted to earn money cutting grass, but my Honda push mower that will be 18 years old and has only been in the shop for routine service, was heavy and not self propelled. I paid over $500 dollars at Lowes the Husqvarna. I took it in for warranty work because the bag falls off, the wheel height can not be maintained so it scalps the grass, all of the knobs fell off, my Honda has all of the originals, The Husqvarna self propel unit would not disengage when pulling the mower backwards. You would actually have to pick up the back of the mower with the wheels off the ground, engage it then it would disengage. When i got it back they didn't replace the knobs and the the next time I used it everything that you repaired was no different that before I took it in. Since then the mower leaks gas, the wheel height rod for the back wheels broke and I had to weld it. At that point I saw what a terrible job they did welding it . Also the air filter case is broken and another knob fell off. more parts have fallen off the bag. I almost forgot about the auto choke. This is the only engine I have to prime in the spring to get started. I don't need to tell you the model # because If you know anything you know the one I'm talking about. I called your number and everything stops there. She can only tell you where to take it. I want to know where I can get parts that have been reengineered to work. Do you really think I should pay for parts that will fail by this time next year. I want to hear some solution. You know it is junk. I do have a Husqvarna chainsaw that has never failed me and I'm very happy with it. I tend to do business with companies that admit problems and work to resolve them. Poor Poor Poor engineering but I'm stuck with it. I sure hope I don't get hurt dragging the weight of the mower in reverse. Please help

    I purchased a Husqvarna HU700L in early April. I'm 67...escalated100%
General Product Question posted May 2, 2013 by Henry Lausch
    Question:
I purchased a Husqvarna HU700L in early April. I'm 67 years old, so I've had a good number of lawn mowers. This one just seems to operate differently than most. My last mower (a Toro) was also self propelled. To disengage the self propel feature you just let go of the drive lever and pushed forward a bit. The manual on the HU700L seems to indicate that that is how it operates as well, but in practice, it does not.

The way mine operates is that after you release the self propel lever, you need to bring it to a complate stop, then push it forward a bit to disengage the drive. I can let go of the drive lever and then push this thing half way across my yard and it still will not disengage the drive wheels until it's at a complete stop, then pushed forward a bit.

I'm wondering if mine is operating incorrectly, or if this is the way it was designed. Makes it really tough if you happen to be mowing uphill, and come up to a fence line. You either need to stop a foot short of the fence, let go of the drive lever, and then push it (uphill) forward to disengage the drive. If mine is not operating correctly, then how do I fix it. If it is operating as designed, then at best this is a poor design, at worst, this is a real safety issue.

PS: I did go to my dealer and sadly, he was of little (as in no!) help. I called Husqvarna costomer support and the women on the other end suggested I read the manual (so no help there either).

General Product Question posted September 12, 2011 by Kyla Schneider
    Question:
Who do I contact regarding the status of a $50 Husqvarna Visa Prepaid Card rebate for a push mower?
    Details:

I mailed the forms for a Visa card rebate for the push mower 7021P with a honda engine to Husquvarna Walk Mower $50 Husqvarna Visa Prepaid Card, Dept. 420-26, PO Box 751367, El Paso, TX 88575-1367 on July 1, 2011.  The paperwork indicated that it may take 6-8 weeks for processing, but that time has come and gone.  Are they behind on sending these?  Is there anyone to contact regarding this?  Any information is appreciated.
