Service & Maintenance Question posted January 31, 2013 by Thomas HendricksonQuestion:I hane a new Poulan Pro 20" chainsaw PP5020AV The last 3 times I have used it after 20 minutes the sprocket on the end of the chain bar freezes up. I have to dismantle the chain/chain bar, free it up, lubricate it and then go back to work. Is the chain bar defective? If it is, since the unit is 5 weeks old how to I get a replacement under warrenty?

- Question:my poulan pro chainsaw (model PP4218AVX)works great, no problems, EXCEPT the gas cap has to be forced out and back in. bought new cap, and after 2 or 3 uses the new cap has done the same thing. it has to be forced out and then back in. it's like it doesn't fit anymore at all. cooling down doesn't help. it just doesn't fit anymore. what's the deal? fellow at the local small engine shop has a few saws with the same problem, but no solution. can u help?

I have an older model Poulan Pro chainsaw which I've been doing some maintenance on. I would like to replace all the missing stickers that have worn or rubbed off, but I don't know what the model number is to know what stickers to purchase, since all the stickers having that information are long gone. Bit of a catch-22.
Is it possible to look at the outside of a Poulan Pro chainsaw and determine what model it is? I'm hoping for some guidance for Ways and Means determining model and different places to search on the chainsaw for obtaining serial number, or anything else that might be helpful in determining the model of my chainsaw.
Once I know the model number I can find the manual for the chainsaw and hopefully be able to order any necessary parts, such as the missing stickers.
Would a photo of my chainsaw help in identifying the model number? If I could find a bunch of pictures of different models, I might be able to compare them with my saw and determine the model?
