Service & Maintenance Question posted December 5, 2015 by Terry Scott
I just bought a DRT900H. It idles fine, runs good just driving to the garden. As soon as you start to till the governor swings back and forth rapidly from idle to wide open throttle. The engine surges drastically the entire time I'm tilling. I brought it back to the dealer and they said nothing is wrong. They obviously didn't take it out and actually put it under load. I saw a previous post by Ken Theis that is the same as what I'm experiencing. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it. As it appears my dealer is just going to blow me off and I'm going to have to fix this myself. Thanks for any and all help. Terry

Service & Maintenance Question posted July 10, 2016 by Darrell Craw
Bought a used Husqvarna FT900 last year. I believe it is only 1 year older - possibly 2013 or 14. The machine actually has 3 different fill tubes. There is a yellow in the front which I know is for oil. But there is also a white one above it and another yellow in the back. I can find nothing about these other 2 fill tubes. All the manuals (didn't get one when I got the machine) on line say that the transmission is sealed - but the white one sure looks like it should be for the transmission. I can see fluid in it. Have no idea what the yellow one in the back is for. Help?

I have a 500 CRT tiller. There is a little metal on metal sound when operating. The manual says that there is a RH Grease fitting that needs grease once per season. I can't find this fitting on my tiller. Is it possible that some models of this tiller were made with a non-serviceable transmission and does not have a grease zerk?

I have a Husqvarna FT900 tiller. The problem is I see there is a fluid leak on the transmission (i.e. oil/grease) under the transmission.

    My questions are:

1.) There is not much leakage, how much can leak before doing major damage to the transmission?
2.) I don't see a grease plug which would allow me to add grease. Is there a way to add grease myself and not have to go through the expense of taking it to a shop?

    Thank you

    I have a Model 917.299391 Husqvarna front tine tiller...escalated
Service & Maintenance Question posted May 24, 2014 by Bob Bean
I have a Model 917.299391 Husqvarna front tine tiller purchased from Sears with their 3 year warranty. 3 different times now since purchased in 2011 I took it back for repair to fix it so it would start. All 3 times they have replaced the carburetor. Why does the carburetor go bad? I use only 100% gas and keep it fresh as I use it in my tractor and other outdoor equipment.
Is there something I cando to prevent the carb from going bad?

    Thanks - Bob

Service & Maintenance Question posted November 14, 2013 by Harold Michaelis
I'm winterizing my CRT900. My question has to do with the oil filler ports and other lubrication. The owner's manual hasn't shown me much. I have two yellow and one white filler ports on my tiller. I know the front yellow is where I check and put new oil. I also know where the drain plug is. But, what is the white plug (midway up on the engine in the front) and the yellow plug for in the back? Also, what type of oil goes in the little blue cap on the tine gearbox?

I bought a Husqvarna tiller a few years back. I guess I did the wrong thing and didn't drain the tank. Now it will start for about 5 seconds or less if I put carb cleaner in the carb, but it won't keep running. It's like it's not getting fuel. What should I do. Drain the tank and check the fuel line? Thanks.

Service & Maintenance Question posted September 19, 2016 by Chad Chaplin
I have a DRT 900E, just over a year old. Was just in the garden tilling using the reverse till gear. I came to a stop to move something from my path. When I came back to the tiller and re-engaged, it seemed to be moving forward way too easy. I assumed it had somehow switched gears. However when I tried to switch gears I discovered that the shift lever is now free floating and I cannot shift at all. The last gear I left it in was the reverse tilling gear, yet it is acting like it is just in plain forward gear as the tines are not engaging either.
Please suggest a course of action. This is HIGHLY disappointing. I got rid of my old tiller, which still worked, paid top dollar for what I thought was a top of the line tiller, and here I am just over a year after purchasing and expecting to find out I have a multi-hundred dollar bill coming up.

Service & Maintenance Question posted August 21, 2013 by Bruce Hamilton
Why does the Husqvarna Customer Service number 800-487-5951 keep dropping my call after I punch in 1 or 2 as requested? If I do not punch a number, the recording simply repeats. I've tried several times at different times of day.
