I have a early Model 44 Rancher Practica [SN 3441 021238] that has been in the family approx 38-39 years with limited original use and has been in storage for the last 30+ years. I have gone through the saw and cleaned it up and after adding fresh fuel, bar oil and spark plug, it started right up and runs great!
But I have noticed while bench running, it is putting a lot of bar oil on the chain which collects/drips around the clutch area and after shut down drips a lot of oil that pools on the bench at the bottom of the saw. On tear-down I did not see any adjustment for the oil pump when I had it out.
My questions are - is there a way to 'slow' down this oil flow, or is this the way this model is designed and any idea when was this saw manufactured?
Thanks for your assistance, Mike
