Not a question, more of a rant.
    Details:

So I bought my WE261 just over a year ago. Within 1 month my transmission comes apart. Finally find a "service shop" that will even touch the thing. Had to wait MONTHS to get it back. 2 weeks later the brake cable breaks, back to the service shop and another 1 month repair. Then finally get it back and start mowing, one of the front wheels literally had dry rotted. Not wanting to have to drive 30 miles to the repair shop and pay all their extra fees on top of what warranty "doesnt pay for" I replaced the wheel myself. Now I have an awesome intermittent "wont start back up once ran" issue

Thank you for making the biggest piece of junk ever. I will not be buying ANYTHING else made by your company again under any nameplate you put on it. I mean really this thing has been at the reapir shop more than my garage.

    Question:
    Statement from a disappointed customer.
    Details:

I purchased my weed eater one back in March, it worked great for 2 mowing sessions, then once put into gear it would shake me to death and make a horrible noise. A quick look behind the rear bumper/plastic shield and I saw my rubber drive wheel was missing chunks. I did a little looking online and saw that the wheel wasn't offered separately from the transmission assembly. I loaded up my mower and dropped it off for warranty service. After about 2 weeks I checked on my mower and the dealership is having a hard time getting me a transmission, now it is a month later and I called to check on the status again and they are telling me once they got the new transmission and installed it they had to order another piece, I believe they said it was the metal wheel that connects the engine to the transmission and they hope to have that part in soon. So long story short after spending over $700 on a new mower (so I wouldn't have to worry about it breaking down) I'm mowing my yard (1 flat acre) with my push mower, again so I don't get another nasty letter from my HOA. I should have used that money to buy a used john deere or something. That's how I feel.

Why don't you stand behind the crappy weedeater one...Answeredescalated3100%

    Question:
Why don't you stand behind the crappy weedeater one mower?
I have had nothing but problems from day one.
First the steering, then the chain coming off.
Then there's a part under the front by the wheel that keeps bending, when it does that you will have one tire facing left and one facing straight.
I have called, all i get told, "TAKE IT TO A SERVICE DEALER" well i did that last yr right after buying it. I got charged. On top of that i do NOT have a truck so i had to pay someone to take it in.
    Details:

I was given the factory #. All they want to do is transfer me to customer service which tells me "TAKE IT IN"

I just tried to mow my grass, I have a small yard, but 3 times i had to get on the ground and put the chain back on so i could finish.

I'm on oxygen, I bought the mower to be a HELP to me.  Its nothing but stress.  Less then a yr old and this many problems.    Wish i could just take it back and get my money back since no one whats to fix it right (w/o charging) or stand behind the product.

What about the Lemon Law..... Fix this mower right or replace it or refund my money (without me having to pay anyone to haul it or fix it)

    I bought a new "Weed Eater 1" 26" mower...Answeredescalated1100%
General Product Question posted September 14, 2011 by Ed Heath
    Question:
I bought a new "Weed Eater 1" 26" mower earlier this Summer. Unfortunately, I got it at Wal Mart in Scottsburg, IN, which means that EVERYONE THERE KNOWS NOTHING about the machine.
From the first day, the pre-assembled steering was very hard to turn. It felt as if something in the wheel assembly was too tight, and the wheel was 'bound up', or possibly lacking adequate lubrication somewhere.
I let it go for a while, thinking that it might free up with some break-in time and use. It did not, in fact it has gotten worse until I now get blisters on my hand everytime I mow, and my wife cannot use it at all.
I am sure this condition is not intended, but am not sure how to cure it. Can you tell me how to go about freeing up the steering wheel assembly so that my wife can at least use it on smooth level ground. That is now impossible.

General Product Question posted September 18, 2014 by toby moreland
    Question:
I have a weedeater one, we261, model #9602400001 01, serial # 010811L001970, purchased in 2011. a recall on the friction wheel is in place for my model, but excludes my serial # for some reason. I have the same exact issue that is reflected in the service bulletin #B2010002015, but the service company statess the wheel is not under warrantee. They also stated that the wheel itself cannot be ordered, that the entire transmission assembly must be replaced at a cost of $320 plus tax and labor! This cost is more than the mower is worth! Please advise why this fault in manufacturing that hundreds of other people are also experiencing, is not covered by the bulletin, or at minimum, how I can obtain just the friction wheel...I can replace the $20 part myself. Please dont reply and say i must buy the entire transmission! thank you for your help in this matter.

General Product Question posted September 11, 2014 by LEE SHANKLE
    Question:
I HAVE HAD MY WEED EATER ONE FOR 2 MOWING SEASONS. THE FIRST YEAR IT WENT TO BE REPAIRED BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT GO FORWARD. KNOW IT WILL NOT GO IN TO 2ND OR 3RD AND IF I TRY IT WILL THROW THE DRIVE CHAIN OFF. I TOOK IT TO ONE OF THE BEST REPAIR SHOPS IN EAST TEXAS, AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TRAMISION WAS MADE OF PLASTIC, AND I WOULD SPEND MORE THAN WHAT I COULD BUY A NEW RIDING LAWN MOWER FOR. SO I GUESS THAT I HAVE LEARNED A GOOD LESSON. NOT TO BUY WEED EATER OR ANY OF ITS PRODUCTS. THANKS YOU FOR A GOOD LESSON. I WILL TELL EVERONE HOW GOOD YOUR PRODUCTS ARE.

General Product Question posted August 13, 2013 by Fred Endemann
    Question:
How can I ID electrical problem that prevents starting my WE261? Dealer says it started when they bypassed safety interlock system in their shop. Have tested all safety switches for continuity: brake, mower deck, seat. Dealer says there is a compression release switch that prevents starting, where is that? How to test it.

Mower suddenly would not (re)start after mowing for an hour. Battery fine. Previously usually used the pull start, with parking brake engaged, with no troubles. No visible wiring connection problems in the harness.

Should I just order a $70 replacement harness, how difficult would that be to install by myself. Any thoughts/ suggestions would be very welcome.
