General Product Question posted July 6, 2012 by KENNETH VALINEQuestion:Not a question, more of a rant.Details:So I bought my WE261 just over a year ago. Within 1 month my transmission comes apart. Finally find a "service shop" that will even touch the thing. Had to wait MONTHS to get it back. 2 weeks later the brake cable breaks, back to the service shop and another 1 month repair. Then finally get it back and start mowing, one of the front wheels literally had dry rotted. Not wanting to have to drive 30 miles to the repair shop and pay all their extra fees on top of what warranty "doesnt pay for" I replaced the wheel myself. Now I have an awesome intermittent "wont start back up once ran" issue
Thank you for making the biggest piece of junk ever. I will not be buying ANYTHING else made by your company again under any nameplate you put on it. I mean really this thing has been at the reapir shop more than my garage.

It worked the first time I used it after the winter although it was hard to start. Now it will not start with the key, but have found that if I pull the cord it will start which is quite difficult for me since I have severe arthritis. I don't believe it is the battery because why would it not start with key and work with pull? Also I wonder if it is the battery where would I get one? I hope this can be fixed because I cannot afford another on my fixed income. Please help!! Thank You

- General Product Question posted September 18, 2014 by toby morelandQuestion:I have a weedeater one, we261, model #9602400001 01, serial # 010811L001970, purchased in 2011. a recall on the friction wheel is in place for my model, but excludes my serial # for some reason. I have the same exact issue that is reflected in the service bulletin #B2010002015, but the service company statess the wheel is not under warrantee. They also stated that the wheel itself cannot be ordered, that the entire transmission assembly must be replaced at a cost of $320 plus tax and labor! This cost is more than the mower is worth! Please advise why this fault in manufacturing that hundreds of other people are also experiencing, is not covered by the bulletin, or at minimum, how I can obtain just the friction wheel...I can replace the $20 part myself. Please dont reply and say i must buy the entire transmission! thank you for your help in this matter.

I have a Weed Eater One 26" riding mower that has been very dependable until last week. The battery is okay and it cranks like usual, but will not fire/start. Trying the, pull starter rope, was not successful. Since it was okay last week I am hoping it might be a sensor or connection problem. I have gone through the manual, with no luck, trying to solve the no-start problem. Based on your experience, could give me some logical steps of things to check next? Bringing it to a dealer is not an option for me. Please help...

MikeDetails:I serviced the mower 2 months ago. Changed the oil, new spark plug and checked the air filter. No problems starting at that time.

I have a small laawn but lost my leg last year and it's hard to use a push mower now. I noticed that the prices range from $650 to $1150. I wanted to know where I can get it cheapest in my area, Wichita Falls, Texas and also wanted to know how much the mulching kit is. Money gets really tight after medical bills and not being able to work anymore, so I need the best info I can get. Thanks, Perry
