The belt slipped off from it twice and wore a hole through the mandrel cover. The second time it must have bent the blade and brotyke the shaft, I cannot even get the warranty to cover it. Is this all you sell is junk? I really think Weedeater is taking advantage of people for this type of mower that does not hold up. In the manual and on the web it is listed as a $58.00 part, (plastic I might add), but now I have been told it is actually no longer avaliable, that you must purchase the entire assembly for $345.00? Am I crazy, it that possible? I mean first of all it isn't even one year old, and second of all, the part is PLASTIC and no longer able to purchase it, even though it is still listed in the manual and on the web as Part #428876. What a shaft! Any ideas?

I can't find out where to take it to get it fixed under warranty. It was purchased at Walmart and I took it to a local repair center that was listed as a warranty center for WeedEater one products and they said they don't cover weedeater products warranty, even though the website said they would... As usual a runaround...
Please let me know what service center near York, PA 17408 will fix this for me under warranty.

- Warranty Question posted April 30, 2012 by Pat StevensQuestion:I purchased a Weed Eater One from the Rona in Chilliwack, BC, Canada on May 21, 2011. The machine's serial number is 041311L002912. It now will not move forward without making a loud grinding noise, though it will go into reverse just fine. I would like to take it in for warranty repairs since it is less than a year old and has less than 20 hours time on it.
The problem is that when calling the companies listed on the service locator I find that while they will service Weed Eater products they will no longer do warranty repairs. I've called the first nine companies listed with no luck and the next one's are in the US so I'm not going to take it across the border for repairs.

The belt kept slipping off it bent the blade and broke the shaft to the motor. I never hit anything with this mower. I do not feel like I should have to pay for this. The service shop says it is not worth fixing. Does my warranty pay for this? I will never buy another Weedeater product again or recommend one to anyone else. Terrible customer service.

i bought the new rider 7/1 , took it home and it mowed 15 feet before the transmission went out. Both a company employee and a few warranty shops i spoke to said the transmission is a problem and is too weak for the unit. So now i wait as my grass grows butt high and my new mower is in the shop. will the new transmisson be stronger or is it the same as the original one (any updating). thanks, mike
