General Product Question posted April 9, 2011 by Carlsen Robert
    Question:
I bought the lawn mower 917.379130 from Sears recently. The pluses are several: single adjust for height, variable speed, good suction, fills bag - can cut taller and wet grass than my old Toro.
Minuses: rear wheel drive seems to spin wheels more than propel. Don't know if that's a problem because I have to cut wet grass now or because the wheels don't have any tread to push with. Rear wheels aren't easy to unlock from drive - push it forward several times with no hands on drive without much success. Not obvious how I prime motor if it needs it.

Overall pleased with mower though the spinning wheels do bug me.

    Question:
Where/how do you achieve the 9 position cutting with the 5 height settings on a model 7021p walk behind lawnmower? Can you raise the rear wheel height by one setting, & leave the front set lower to achieve the 9 cutting heights? What are the cutting height levels (not range) for each of the settings

    Question:
I have a rotary lawn mower 917.384513, product no. 6021P purchased 11/2011. I have 3 different deep well spark plug sockets and none of them fit the plug. What size do I need and where can I get a replacement plug? Seats does not know the answer to either question. It is only 1 year old and I had a bunch of difficulty starting it for the first cut of the 2nd season - over an hour. I think it is the plug, but I can't get the old one out. Thx! Phil

Issue with HU800AWD blade adapter: WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?...escalated1
General Product Question posted October 22, 2013 by Robert Garrott
    Question:
Issue with HU800AWD blade adapter: WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? 1. The blade adapter shown in the manual is not the one installed; appears to be a solid pulley and not a split pulley as is installed.
    2. I assume the split pulley was jammed in full closed position but vibrated loose; the "free" half of the split pulley slipped out of the blade adapter and flopped around drive shaft making a lovely grinding noise. No retainer or preload spring installed; can't see how a floating split pulley weighing only a few ounces is supposed to provide the friction to the drive belt.
    3. My call to Husqvarna Customer Service was a wasted twelve minutes of my life I'll never get back. No technical assistance available, just a referral to the local dealer.
    4. Local dealer #1 only does warranty work on equipment he sells (and don't let the door hit you in the butt on your way out!). Local dealer #2 doesn't do repair work.
    5. Option 1: Load up 200 pound mower in my SUV and drive to another town to get a warranty diagnosis and 7-10 days for parts. Option 2: Say phooey and take blade adapter to local welding shop to transform poorly designed split pulley into solid pulley.
I bought Husqvarna because of the quality reputation. I'll have to think long and hard before buying another Husqvarna product if this is the level of design and support I can expect to receive.

General Product Question posted September 19, 2011 by Linda Marini
    Question:
In 2006 we purchased a Husqvarna Rider 155 41" riding mower. It was a lemon from the start. Had it worked on NUMEROUS times and it continued to not start. throw belts, break belts, etc. We have finally given up and bought a different mower. Now I have a mower that I am unsure of how to dispose of. Would Husqvarna buy this mower back at a fair used price? We paid $4182.70 for the mower. What can you do or advise?

General Product Question posted July 11, 2011 by Terence McCallion
    Question:
I purchased a HU700L from Lowes in March. Started using in June. After 4 cuts(area is roughly 5000 sq. feet)the rear drive has collapsed with both wheels and their assemblys detaching from the deck. Now beyond the return period I have taken in for service under warranty. I see on this forum, this
same issue was reported on June 27th. Is there a known design issue with this model and is Husqvarna working on a fix?
