    I bought a 24" Poulan Pro PR624ES snowblower only two...escalated1
General Product Question posted February 29, 2012 by Brian
    Question:
I bought a 24" Poulan Pro PR624ES snowblower only two months ago and after only a couple light uses it has major concerns:

    1) It will not go in reverse as it should. The reverse option is just a slower forward speed.

    2) Major kickback and engine shuts off.

    3) Gas leaks and it actually started a small fire in my driveway today.

Needless to say I'm very disappointed with the lack of quality. After calling customer service I kept getting directed to other phone numbers to call for assistance. I called a local service shop who plans on taking a look at it. Very disappointed in the customer service of this product along with the product itself.

General Product Question posted April 16, 2011 by John Zrodlowski
    Question:
I have a Poulan Pro blower/vac model BVM200VS. It was purchased from Lowe's on 11/15/2010. I have never used anything but the correct gas to oil mix and have used the supplied 2-stroke oil. The blower had always started and run very well. Then, 2-3 weeks ago it stalled out and will not start again. I have checked for spark and am getting it. Replaced the spark plug after checking and setting the appropriate gap. Took apart and cleaned the fuel intake system including blowing out the fuel filter. According to the printed material packed with the blower, it would appear to be under warranty. I have read a lot about this brand/model on line. From what I can gather, the unit has lost compression in the cylinder. This would be the most logical diagnosis given the other causes already ruled out. The loss of compression is most likely due to one of two reasons or both: the piston ring has gotten stuck in the set groove on the piston (which this model is well known for) or the head bolts have vibrated loose enough to compromise compression (another model related flaw). Many of the customer reviews of this blower were quite unfavorable, more than some warning a potential customer against purchase of Poulan. Of those customers that did take the unit in for repair, under warranty, more than 60% were told the problem was not covered and due to improper gas to oil mix. My question is should I take it in and have it checked for possible repair, even under warranty?

    Question:
I'm a very dissatisfied Poulan customer.
I bought a Poulan blower in fall of 2010. I used it that fall and this past fall in a non-commercial way. It ran OK but cord came out in my hand when I tried to start it this past fall. I just brought it to a local small engine guy. He said, "It's too costly to fix. Throw it out. I'd have to take it all apart to fix it. It's not worth it." What say you? Fred 978-454-0794

General Product Question posted November 4, 2011 by Thomas Richards
    Question:
My BVM200LE ran for about an hour. The next day it wouldn't start. I checked spark (OK), changed fuel. No start.

Took it into B&L Outdoor Power, Hollister, Mo. THey said there wasn't enough compression for it to start.

They called Poulon who told them they would not honor the warranty....!

They soaked the cylinder in "Seafoam" for 48 hours and it ran. I took it home and used it once; about 1/2 hour. It has never run since. I tried the same Seafoam soak; no good.
I even tried a shot of starting fluid. No good.

Since you won't honor the warranty the only thing left to me is to contact Sam's Club (where I bought it) and Consumer's
Union - unless you can do something to repair or replace my blower.

    Thank you,
    Thomas Richards

Service & Maintenance Question posted April 13, 2011 by Brian Bownds
I have a Poulan Pro Blower Vac Mulcher. It starts and runs but if I shut it off and let it sit more than a few minutes it will not restart. It is only 2 months old and I have only used it a few times. I use premium gas and good quality 2 stroke oil. I can run it as long as I want. I can shut it off and restart it within a minute or two without a problem. If it sits for more than a few minutes it wont start and the carb will not prime/purge, only air stays in the primer bulb. This is a new unit and shouldn't have these kind of problems, do I need to return the unit?
    Thanks,

    Question:
Frankly I wish I could get my money back for the Poulan Pro BVM200VS. I can not start it. I've taken it to a service center and he can get it started easily. After he has started it I can restart it.
When I drive home (15 miles), I can't start it. I have been back to the dealer 5 times and the story is always the same. Maybe 79 is too old to be fooling with blowers.
