ST230P Auger Belt broken after light usage23100%
Service & Maintenance Question posted February 24, 2015 by William Downs
    Question:
ST230P Auger Belt broken after light usage
    Details:

I live in Boston, MA area and bought an ST230P 1/25/2015.  Biggest problem I am having is that the auger belt broke after about 10 - 15 hours total operation. (Worked great until belt broke).  Searched up and down all local dealers and belt manufactures for replacement with no luck.  Closest I could get was a rubber v-belt with same dimension.  This belt broke after about 5 minutes operation.

I believe the cause of belt wear on my machine is the belt guide on the idler arm opposite the idler pulley.  The guide pulls the belt off the auger drive pulley to tension it when the lever is pressed to engage auger. Unless it was installed wrong?

Anyone else experience similar problems with auger belt??

Bought my ST227P 11/2014 from Lowe's, only used it once...16
Service & Maintenance Question posted December 29, 2017 by Joe Wadsworth
    Question:
Bought my ST227P 11/2014 from Lowe's, only used it once in April 2015 due to light snow that winter and used it 4x in 2016. I've literally only used this snowblower 5x since I bought it! Pulled it out 12/2017 (again nearly no snow this winter--global warming I guess--but wanted to get it ready just in case). Started it up and then tried to put it in Drive, but the wheels are stuck in Reverse. I looked under the control panel and it appears a piece of plastic that was part of the plastic gear assembly has broken off. I'm shocked! I paid nearly $1,000 for this snow blower and it's been used 5x and is just barely out of warranty and something like this happens?? Poorly made I guess, should have bought a different brand. I did a ton of research before buying a Husqvarna and was convinced it was top of the line. However, having read through countless posts with similar models made from 2013-2016 it would appear that Husqvarna has a few issues (belt, gear and thrower controls) that need their attention. Nothing that costs this much should break after 5 uses, that is just unacceptable. Husqvarna needs to stand behind their products and when they know many of their customers are experiencing similar issues they need to extend their warranty to cover repairs and necessary upgrades to remedy poor manufacturing practices. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

    I bought Husqvarna Poula pro5524ES snowblower 5 years ago....7100%
Service & Maintenance Question posted January 29, 2016 by Shu-jun Huang
    Question:
I bought Husqvarna Poula pro5524ES snowblower 5 years ago. It was only being used for a couple seasons. When I used the recent big snow storm in Maryland two days, the oil leaked very badly from underneath of recoil chamber. Now every time I filled it back, it leads or flooded immediately, is the oil seal worn out? How hard to fix it? Very appreciate if someone can give me advice.

PS. I have a very long driveway (500 ft)

Service & Maintenance Question posted January 17, 2016 by Steve Tinder
    Question:
The oil in my hydrostatic transmission expansion tank is well below the cold level (almost non existent in the tank) on my 1827EXLT Snow Thrower. I would like to know what grade of oil to use just to top it off to the proper level. Tried searching - have seen question but never answer, only that you do not have to fill it. Mine is not at proper level and it requires topoff; please share the proper grade.
    Thanks

The power steering triggers on my new Husqvarna Snow Blower...escalated5
Service & Maintenance Question posted February 10, 2013 by John Belli
    Question:
The power steering triggers on my new Husqvarna Snow Blower model 1830 EXLT are impossible to engage, the triggers will not move. Is there a fix for this problem?
    Details:

I am afraid too much force may break something.  I called the Husqvarna dealer/service facility, explained the problem, and received the comment "I heard a little bit about this issue; you must bring it in."

The machine is still under waranty, however, I am holding off the service visit (10 day turnaround) until the snow season has ended. Is there anything I can do: lubrication, adjustment, etc.  The triggers work just fine when the drive handle is NOT engaged.

    Question:
I have an 1830 EXLT snowblower and it will not stop when I take the key out or turn on/off switch to off! Any suggestions as to what the problem may be?
    Details:

I recently changed the spark plug in my Husqvarna 1830 EXLT snow blower and now it will not stop when I take out the key or the turn on/off switch to off.  Using my little meter I checked that both switches (the key and the on/off switch) and they seem fine. I also checked wires for shorts and they all seem fine.  I stumped??

    problem solved!  ground wire issue

Husqvarna ST327P snow blower. Auger does not lock when both...4
Service & Maintenance Question posted December 12, 2016 by Thomas Johnston
    Question:
Husqvarna ST327P snow blower. Auger does not lock when both traction drive and auger controls are engaged. In other words, when I release the auger control, the auger disengages even when the traction control is still fully engaged. This feature is explained in the owner's manual and it's to allow the operator to remove his right hand to manipulate the chute control without having the auger stop.

I purchased the snow blower new last fall but didn't use it last year due to lack of snow. I used it for the first time today and this feature doesn't work.

Inspecting the mechanism, I see a plastic part with a ledge that apparently should lock onto the metal auger control part when the traction drive is engaged but the ledge can't lock onto the metal part of the auger mechanism. The ledge just slips over the metal plate.

I see that someone else posted this question a long time ago but received no response. I would appreciate help with this because when I used the machine for the first time today, it was clear that that feature would be very useful. Every time I removed my right hand from the auger control the auger stopped even though the traction control was full engaged and the machine was moving.
    Details:

Please see the attached picture.  The problem can be seen near the center of the picture.  The ledge on the black plastic piece will not engage with the edge of the mating metal part.  It just slips by it.  This picture was taken with both the traction control and auger controls fully engaged.
