Warranty Question posted January 24, 2016 by Bwana Hatari
    Question:
DISAPPOINTED!!!!! ST227P Auger Belt frayed - but there is more!
    Details:

I recently bought an ST227P snow blower and for the first time I barely finished clearing the path and the Augers stopped working. I noticed a burnt smell after a few sparks and with a little research I pin pointed that the issue was with the Auger Belt (part no: 581 83 24-01 IMPELLER BELT) having slipped off. The belt is frayed and am also suspecting some anomaly with a small broken piece of metal lodged in between the Shoulder Bolt and the Pully (ASM Engine).  I understand that belts are not covered under warranty but this is pathetic and rather disappointing. I have purchased 3 Husqvarna products in the past year and especially through this storm period, I am unable to use this expensive pile of metal.

What is Husqvarna doing about this? I have seen several posts on the company webpage and other forums complaining of the exact same issues. sad

    Question:
I used my ST 224 for about 10 minutes and then stopped to speak to my neighbor. After restarting, the augers would not turn. I attempted to adjust auger cable to no avail. Today the augers worked again for about 10 minutes then stopped. I loosened the belt housing and noticed that one of the belts is loose or broken. This is unacceptable.

    Question:
Bought a ST227P on 9/4/2015, I tested it the day I bought it and all worked fine. Yesterday I was getting it ready for the winter, checked the oil and again tested firing it up. The electric starter makes a quiet buzzing noise, but isn't starting the motor. The pull string starter fires up the engine with 1 or 2 pulls. Can you please advise what the problem and solution are.

    Purchased a 27" Husqvarna ST227P snow thrower on...9
Warranty Question posted January 8, 2015 by Michael Santasiero
    Question:
Purchased a 27" Husqvarna ST227P snow thrower on 11/11/14 and after using it twice it died on me while throwing 6" of snow. Turns out the drive belt for the auger snapped and I had to take it to where I purchsed it (Lowe's) they said I had to take it to an authorized dealer or they would send it out. I opted to take it to Lakeshore Hardware & tool rental Camp Rd Hamburg, NY(authorized dealer) on 1/3/15. They said they would look at it and may not be covered under warranty due to it being rubber that broke but they would do their best to see that it is under warranty. Now I'm without a snow thrower and I had to shovel a foot of snow yesterday 1/7/15 and we are due for another round tomorrow 1/9/15, while my brand new machine sits in a repair shop. This is ridiculous! I would have tried to replace the belt but they recommend it be done by a service center! I had a small Toro for 15 years and never once had it break down on me and now after spending $1,000 on this machine, which I do really like when it worked, I am left waiting for it to be repaired. In my opinion Lowe's should have given me a new machine when I returned it. Now I have to worry about this one breaking a belt again in the near future and have to go without one again while it is in the shop! The number for this shop is (716) 649-7626 if you have any questions. The Serial # for this machine is 1475H0813015A

    Question:
I have had the 1830 EXLT for less than 2 winters and it is plagued by steering problems. I have spent hours on the phone with the friendly but useless support girls and had it in service at least 4 times. 2 different dealers, had 2 different update kits installed and it still is basically useless.
Recently,I wrote to the president/ceo of Husqvarna
    Kai Warn President CEO
    Husqvarna Group
    SE-561 82
    Stockholm Sweden

But have not received any reply yet. There can be little wear and tear on the machine as it is always in for repairs.
Give us back our money Husqy!!

Where can I take my new snow-blower for a warranty repair or...1
Warranty Question posted October 1, 2014 by John Sasta
    Question:
Where can I take my new snow-blower for a warranty repair or to take a look at something?
    Details:

I recently purchased a new ST230P and after starting it for the very first time the day it arrived at my door, I'm hearing a loud ping/rattle inside the gearbox area. I called my local authorized dealers and all of them said that they only do warranty service on the equipment purchased from them.

The problem is that this was purchased from Amazon.com pre-ordered in August due to the competitive pricing by pre-ordering.  Its disappointing that Huqvarna has such a policy. Don't allow products to be sold by a place that isn't equipped to service them.

    Update:

Since I still haven't received a reply, I peeked around at the machine without taking it apart and I found the source of the noise.

581 44 69-03 SWING PLATE FRICTION PULL is mounted with a lot of "play" because both of the  581 73 27-01 SPACER DRIVE are shorter than they should be to firmly hold the plate in place. When the belt is turning the pulley it causes the plate to slide back and fourth along 581 12 30-01 ROD TIP PLATE. That sliding is causing the plate to make a rattle and loud ping.

Please advise is this is normal or cause for concern. The spacers, being plastic, wont be able to handle that frequency of impact.
