    Question:
My brand new 440 chainsaw will not start
    Details:

I followed all the instructions for the chainsaw & it will not start up.  It has gas & bar oil.  When I go to warm up the engine, the engine never sounds like it turns over.  It doesn't matter if I take the choke off after that, it will do the same thing. The air purge has liquid in it. Any Ideas?

Husqvarna 435 Chain Saw - Very difficult to start....Answeredescalated33100%

    Question:
Husqvarna 435 Chain Saw - Very difficult to start.

    Hello,
I have a Husqvarna 435 Chain Saw that I purchased from Lowes about a year ago and I have only used it a couple of times.

The problem I have is it is extremely difficult to start. I had to use it yesterday to try and clean up some tree limbs after they got knocked down during a storm. After 30 minutes trying to start it and unable to, I gave up and went to the hand saw.

This should start so easily but it does not. I believe I have the proper fuel mixture and I follow the instructions in the manual but still no luck.

I read somewhere that someone mentioned needing to adjust the low idle scree 1/4 turn but I did not see any details on how to get to it. Sounds like you have to fabricate some special tool just to turn the screw.

Does anyone have good advice on how to adjust this so it will start?

Also, the pull rope seems to stick from time to time. Any idea's on that would be most appreciated as well.

At this point I would be hard pressed to recommend any Husqvarna product but I guess I'll reserve final judgement until I get to the bottom of the issues.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Husqvarna 440 Choke will not stay on1
Service & Maintenance Question last edited September 9, 2018 by Chris Kloes
    Question:
Husqvarna 440 Choke will not stay on
    Details:

    Husqvarna 440 x torq.

When I pull the choke switch out, and then push up the red choke/control switch will not lock in place. Has anyone experienced this type of issue before? I have removed the cover and visually inspected the switch itself, and it's connections on both sides of the carburetor. Nothing appears to be broken. See photos and video. Any thoughts welcomed and appreciated.

    Thank you in advance, Chris.

    Question:
I have a 562XP chainsaw. The oil adjustment screw only turns to the left..counterclockwise. It is a ramped screw and does not have a stop like my 550 or 460 chainsaws. How do you tell which position it is in. For example: Min setting vs Max setting?

How to lubricate the needle bearing on a 435 chainsaw?Answeredescalated4
Service & Maintenance Question last edited February 10, 2012 by roomservicetaco
    Question:
How to lubricate the needle bearing on a 435 chainsaw?
    Details:

What is the proper procedure for lubricating the needle bearing on the drive shaft of a 435 chainsaw?  Just purchased one and the user manual says to keep the bearing lubricated every week.  However, it does not give instructions on how to do it and, in fact, says to use either grease or oil which would require different applications.  Thanks.
