Husqvarna 435 Chain Saw - Very difficult to start....Answeredescalated33100%
Service & Maintenance Question posted October 31, 2011 by Mark E
    Question:
Husqvarna 435 Chain Saw - Very difficult to start.

    Hello,
I have a Husqvarna 435 Chain Saw that I purchased from Lowes about a year ago and I have only used it a couple of times.

The problem I have is it is extremely difficult to start. I had to use it yesterday to try and clean up some tree limbs after they got knocked down during a storm. After 30 minutes trying to start it and unable to, I gave up and went to the hand saw.

This should start so easily but it does not. I believe I have the proper fuel mixture and I follow the instructions in the manual but still no luck.

I read somewhere that someone mentioned needing to adjust the low idle scree 1/4 turn but I did not see any details on how to get to it. Sounds like you have to fabricate some special tool just to turn the screw.

Does anyone have good advice on how to adjust this so it will start?

Also, the pull rope seems to stick from time to time. Any idea's on that would be most appreciated as well.

At this point I would be hard pressed to recommend any Husqvarna product but I guess I'll reserve final judgement until I get to the bottom of the issues.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Husqvarna 395xp stud bolt replacement.escalated29
Service & Maintenance Question posted August 29, 2014 by Bill Ketner
    Question:
    Husqvarna 395xp stud bolt replacement.
    Details:

I have a fairly new Husqvarna 395xp; about 1 year old and not a lot of use. I was tightening the bar nuts onto the stud bolts yesterday and the rear stud bolt began to turn. I cannot remove the bar nut on the rear stud bolt now as the bolt just turns with the nut. I am sure I can drill a shallow hole and use a thread tap in the hole to apply counter torque to remove the nut. My question is: how difficult is it to replace the stud bolt. From what I can see it entails splitting the crank shaft housing to get at the end of the bolt. Is this correct? Is it something I can do or does it require a trip to a repair shop?

    I have a Husky 350 chainsaw that I purchased about 10 yrs....25
Service & Maintenance Question posted November 20, 2014 by Paul Schneider
    Question:
I have a Husky 350 chainsaw that I purchased about 10 yrs. ago. It has worked great for the first 7-8 yrs. The problem that I have is that the muffler keeps coming loose. I have had helicoils installed and the repair shop even safety wired the bolts the last time they repaired it (about a year ago). This time one of the screws reamed out the helicoil and the repair shop says it's reamed out too much to put another helicoil in. I see on the website that this is a known issue and is a design defect. The new saws have 3 bolts holding the muffler. Since this is a design defect I am requesting a credit on the purchase of a new Husky saw. I would think that in the interest of goodwill that this is not an unreasonable request. I can furnish documentation of when and where I purchased the saw. Also, I'm a homeowner and just use the saw occasionally.

    Question:
Husqvarna T435 - having two problems right now:

    1. chain keeps loosening, like, really fast. I checked the parts manual - everything is there. cranking down hard on the nut - yes. chain is not new, but sharp. bar just seems to be moving in. how can i fix this?

    2. getting lots of blue smoke after operating for a few minutes, like there is oil leaking onto something hot inside. I don't think this is oil leakage in the pistons, b/c power seems to be ok. on the other hand, i think the smoke may be coming out of the muffler hole. how do i diagnose this?

    Question:
I have a 455 Rancher chainsaw. The serial number is SN 06 4300251. Can I assume this means my chainsaw is a 2006 model? I was just cutting and the chain stopped spinning. I removed the side plate and the clutch fell off in my hand. The end of the crankshaft sheared off in the clutch. How complicated and expensive is it to replace the crankshaft? Is it worth replacing?

I have a 455 Rancher that has had constant oiler problems....escalated19
Service & Maintenance Question posted March 30, 2013 by Alan B
    Question:
I have a 455 Rancher that has had constant oiler problems. I recently had to replace the oiler and replaced the damaged worm gear at the same time. I also replaced the hose that supplies the oil to the bar, but don't know how to pull out the pickup hose. If I can get needle nosed pliers into the oil tank that far, do I pull it away from the insertion point? Is it something that can then easily be pushed back into the hole after it is cleaned or replaced?

    I bought a 455 rancher autotune, having a lot of problems....17
Service & Maintenance Question posted January 25, 2017 by mark giannini
    Question:
I bought a 455 rancher autotune, having a lot of problems. The ignition coil went out (covered under warranty after 3 months in shop), now I have a fuel issue. It seems that the primer bulb never purges the air bubbles out and the saw dies from lean condition. Now it wont start at all unless i put fuel mix into the carb directly .
seems like fuel goes forward and back when using the primer. Dealer told me i need new carb .This saw has very little cutting time on it.
I have other Husvarna saws and have had no problems out of the ordinary.

    I have a Husquvarna 350 chainsaw with a problem no one seems...17
Service & Maintenance Question posted December 4, 2014 by Herb Wofford
    Question:
I have a Husquvarna 350 chainsaw with a problem no one seems able to fix. My saw runs just fine for about ten minutes and then it starts acting up.
The first sign is, it seems to want to shut off, but does not, then the next sign is when I let up on the trigger and then go to engage the trigger again it does cut off. It cranks back up; I make a cut, let up, engage the trigger again and it shuts off. I go through this about 5 or 6 times until it will not crank at all. After it sets for a while, I go back through the same routine. This has been going on since I purchased the saw and even the dealer and other repair shops cannot seem to find the problem.
They let the saw run for about 10 minutes with no problem. It seems to do it when the saw has been engaged in cutting wood for about 10 minutes.
I have had new lines and yesterday a new carburetor installed, but to no avail.
The repair people seem to be stumped. Does cutting wood cause it to get hotter? Is there some gas or air leak that should be looked at?
I have another 350 and I use it all the time with no problems. Even though the saw is past the warranty, it probably has less than 20 hours of use due to its problem.
    Can you Help?

    Thank you,
    Herb
