Service & Maintenance Question posted August 1, 2018 by Chris Harrison
    Question:
I got 435e, Series II, and I can't figure our what type of chain I have on the chainsaw. I don't see on the chain anything that will identify it, and in the User's manual it says that there are two different sets of tools for chain sharpening, with slight differences in angles, I think. Also, one of these two type of chains from the Manual are not even listed on the Husqvarna website as their standard product.

I called distributor that sold me the saw, and they don't know either, they want me to bring the saw back to them to take a look (?!). I don't wan to do that, they are quite far from me, I was hoping there is some mark on the chain that tells what it is.

    Question:
I have a rancher 455. About 4 years old. All of a sudden it won't turn off. I took the cover off the saw that there is a wire just hanging. Where does it go? Did something break? The manual isn't clear on this. IT shows the wiring, then in another view it shows the switch...

    I hope the link works..

Bar Chain Oil Leaking from never-used saw1

    Question:
Bar Chain Oil Leaking from never-used saw
    Details:

    Hello,

I have a brand new 450E.  I bought it a few months ago and haven't had to use it until now.  When I opened the saw case, it was full of the bar chain oil.  It had leaked out entirely.  The cap was put on tightly, and it doesn't appear to be the seal, so there must be a leak somewhere I can't see.

My question is: is this serviceable and covered under the Husqvarna warranty?  And, what should I do?

    Question:
Huskvarna used to be my home town. I have a long history with Husqvarna. Just got a SKU 531 30 00-80 Chain Saw 3/8 FileKit. The instructions does not match the parts included. Bad reviews on Amazon due to that. It's a great tool, but please, do something about the instructions ;-)

    Question:
My Husqvarna 36 is hard to start because the rope can be pulled only with great effort. The resistance is in a series, indicating that I am fighting full compression. Is there a compression release feature that eases starting effort? Would the replacement of a part (that a fairly mechanically savvy but not expert person could install) solve the problem? The engine ran pretty well last time I was able to start it. Thanks for your help.

    Question:
I have a rancher 455 chain saw. Since new the chain tensioner has very little tensioning adjustment. I just put new bar, clutch cup and chain,(all genuine Husqvarna) and there is less than 1/4" adjustment left. Generally I am never able to use chains effectively as they never make it past the first sharpening

    Question:
I purchased a NEW 460 Rancher chain saw on 6-9-18. It ran awesome right out of the box for about 6 hours. then after a fueling it would not start and when I went to open the fuel cap it sprayed all the fuel out and nearly emptied the fuel tank. Anything I can do before I take it back to the store I purchased it from?

Husqvarna 141 Chainsaw - No oil on Bar/ChainAnsweredescalated17
Service & Maintenance Question last edited March 20, 2012 by John
    Question:
Husqvarna 141 Chainsaw - No oil on Bar/Chain
    Details:

I have a Husqvarna 141 Chainsaw and little to no oil makes it onto the bar/chain.  After using the saw for 20 minutes, the chain is bone dry and the bar is very hot.  Oil does come out of the bottom of the saw however.

The last few times I used the saw, I would just stop every 10 minutes and pour oil onto the bar/chain from the oil bottle.  This makes a mess and a lot of oil drips on the ground.

I have taken the saw to a Husqvarna Authorized Service Center (Crockett Service Center in Dallas) twice over the past year for this specific problem.  I paid about $40.00 each time and they said they cleaned out the oil ***.  However, when I got home, the saw still does not put out oil onto the bar.  I have heard of other people who have this model chainsaw having the same, identical issue.

It appears that the oil leaves the reservoir/pump, and then drips down behind the silver plate that the bar rests against.  This silver plate is seen in the photograph.

What is causing this oil problem?  Is it a manufacturing defect with this model?  Can this be repaired or should I throw the chainsaw away?

Thanks very much for any help on this issue.
