Service & Maintenance Question posted September 1, 2011 by Kimberly Willoughby
    Question:
I am trying to figure out how to lodge a complaint about my mower. My husband bought it last June, and spent quite a bit of money on it because we were tired of not having a dependable mower. We used it from half way through June until probably half way through September. We then emptied it out and put it up for the winter. The following May when we went to mow our grass it would not start, and it took us two weeks to get it back from Sears. Now it has decided to stop working again (3 months after being repaired once), and is back at Sears again for another two weeks. Our yard looks horrible! We bought a more expensive mower because we wanted consistancy, but instead we have not been able to use the mower 4 weeks out of this summer...summer only lasts 4 months! I feel we have been cheated. My neighbor purchased a Craftsman mower the same time we did, and has had no problems with it. The Sears salesman talked us into your mower, and now they won't do anything about it's shoddy quality, and how disappointed we are with it. I feel that someone owes me a mower that works.

Service & Maintenance Question posted September 6, 2011 by leo pizzano
    Question:
    I have a 9 years old Husqvarna walk-behind lawnmower model 580R with a Briggs&Stratton engine model 126602 0130 E1.
My problem is when the unit was new it was very quiet while running but now it has become very loud, so loud I have to close the windows to the house because of the noise.
I replaced the muffler, adjusted the valves and cleaned the carburetor, and it is still as loud as ever. All of these attempts to quiet the unit were suggested by Briggs&Stratton. Any suggestions?

Service & Maintenance Question posted September 27, 2011 by Stuart Swany
    Question:
I bought a Model HU775HW mower and am having a problem with the hose wash feature. When I hook up the hose, turn it on and start the engine, water sprays and pours out of the top of the mulch-er door. The water is spraying on the back of the engine and filling up the top of the mower deck. I called the place where I bought it and they told me to attach the side discharge attachment and try it. As soon as the water started hitting the engine, I shut it off and let the mower engine cool off before trying again. I'm afraid that the cold water hitting the hot engine will cause a crack in the engine block or crankcase. What should I do? I'm not sure the guys I bought it from are up to the task of diagnosing a problem.

Service & Maintenance Question posted November 20, 2011 by Matt Murphy
    Question:
I bought a self propelled Husqvarna in 2005. The sticker on the front reads 6522SH. The model number is 917.375362. A couple of weeks ago the handle of the mower snapped off near the peg it attaches to on the mower itself. I have never seen this happen to a lawn mower. Any ideas why this might have happened? We just use it to mow our lawn.

    Hello, I have a husqvarna self-propelled mower model...Answeredescalated8
Service & Maintenance Question posted February 3, 2012 by Hoyet Taylor
    Question:
    Hello,
I have a husqvarna self-propelled mower model 5521chv. The dust cover on the front right wheel has been broken and dirt and grass has been getting in. Of course the wheel got packed with grass several times and I kept cleaning it out until finally the plastic sprocket gears inside the drive wheel got mostly worn down. So I recently ordered and received a new right wheel and a new dust cover. I have taken off the wheel and metal sprocket without any problem, but I can't figure out how to get the dog clutch assembly off the shaft so that I can slide on the dust cover behind it. Is there a hidden key or pin that needs to be removed to get that assembly off the shaft so that I can slide the dust cover on behind it and reassemble it?
    Let me know,
    Hoyet
