My Husquvarna CZ4817 lost 3 engine mounting bolts causing a slight rotation of engine on mower deck. This slight rotation caused the oil drain tube (tube with 90 degree elbow hanging down into the hole in the deck) to start hitting the edge of hole because of engine vibrations. (I do not know how long this has been happening but I have a series of issues which I am trying to rectify;) The vibrations led to the oil drain tube from the engine to actually break while I had the engine running just to check on another problem (overheating and shutting off?) Ran engine at high speed about 15 minutes - all ok. Then went to lower speed and wanted to actually drive mower to see if it shuts down again. That is when I noticed engine oil all over mower deck and floor. Was able to get remaining threads from oil drain pipe out and inserted new pipe.
Problem: Oil ran all over mower deck and ran thru deck holes onto the electric clutch. I know oil on a clutch does not work. Took a screwdriver and paper towel into space where clutch is and was wiping oil from the clutch surfaces. Wanted to remove clutch and hand clean better. Can you spray solvent/alchol of some type to clean clutch surface? Could not get clutch off so how do you do this? In case I have to buy a new clutch. Could not get crescent wrench on ring with the flat sides while trying to unloosen attaching bolt.
Thanks for your time.
I purchased new a Husqvarna Z246 zero turn in July. Love the mower. However, upon initial starting in normal weather, it will crank over a while before starting. I know there isnt a choke on this model and there is some type of "easy starting". I have tried starting with the throttle in the fast position, the slow position, and even the snowflake position, and still just cranks until it eventually starts and will even smoke a bit. When I have cut for a bit, and shut the mower off, and the engine is hot/warm, it fires up immediately. I do use the gas shut off after each mow meaning I shut it off. I do turn it on a few minutes prior to the initial start.
Could shutting the gas off and not opening it way before I start it have anything to do with the issue? Again, after the mower is warm, fire up is in a second...
Any ideas?
Thank you.

I am pulling my hair out here.
As stated, the engine is getting killed whenever I disengage the parking brake.
Sounded easy. Seat switch gone bad. I disconnected it, still dies.
I pulled off the connector going to the plunger switch of the parking brake. Still dies.
I disconnected both arm safety switches, still dies.
Aside from the seat, the two arms and the parking break, I don't know of any other safety switches that I could check.
Also, the way I read the schematic on the wiring in the manual, unless I am reading it wrong, they are normally closed switches (open when butt is in seat, lever is brought in etc.), and I am reading a short on the system side of the wiring harness (of the seat switch), so if I understand correctly, that is the problem. It should be open if all safety switches are satisfied. But with all the other switches pulled off, there shouldn't be anything to produce a short, right? I have hand-over-hand'ed the wiring system looking for shorts, pinches etc to no avail. I need some assistance from here.
thanks!
Z246 ZTR control arm will not stay in brake position. Is there anyway to tighten this up? Anyone know where to find an online manual that would have this? Also my headlight is not working and apparently never has. Is it supposed to be on all the time? In addition when I moved all the anti scalp wheels to their heights settings 1 of them rubs on the mower deck reinforcement trim piece and I had to remove it so the wheel would turn.
Hello, I have a RZ4824F ZTR mower with 113 hours on it. Mowed last week and drove it into my shed with no issues. Started it this morning to mow and when I was halfway out of the shed, the engine died. I was able to start it right back up, but if I lower the hand brake, or attempt to pull the control levers in toward me, the engine immediately stalls. I suspect it's one of those anti-litigation devices that is sensing one of the safety features not being "right", but would like thoughts and advice on what to look for to get her mowing - we've had a ton of rain and the grass is getting tall. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.........Ed
