This are valid concerns and shows good research on your purchase.

The LCT (Liquid Combustion Technologies) is not a "new" engine in the market place they have partnered with the company that used to be Tecumseh / Lauson. We have been using LCT since approximately late 2009 and have been very pleased with the durability and reliability very few failures and those have typically been minor. The throttle control or lack there of is agreed old school. For many walk mowers, generators, pumps and snow blowers we only want the engine to be run at top governed RPM, this does several things. First it puts the engine in the proper RPM to be the most emission efficient, also the impeller and auger are designed to work at the RPMs of an engine at top governed RPM, also this moves enough air to cool the engine properly, if the engine has a charging system it produces enough power to operate the lights and or heated handles. It moves enough oil in the engine to keep it properly lubricated, It also puts the engine above the power band preventing the engine from "lugging".

Another point to make is Husqvarna may have been the builders of your Craftsman snow blower all those years ago. While Husqvarna does not support any private label machine for instance it would have to be serviced and warranted through Sears if a Craftsman Husqvarna does build a quality machine.

It is upsetting that you have had this concern.

First I would say the fuel valve may be almost all the way off and that this should be checked or the carburetor may need attention. Secondly there could be a problem with the unloader valve stalling the engine, if when the engine dies you can not pull the recoil rope this would indicate that the unloader is not releasing correctly.

If the fuel valve is open then the unit will need to be serviced by either an authorized Husqvarna service center for the ( pump ) or an authorized Honda engine service center.

The mulch kit is available from your local authorized Husqvarna service center.

Your local dealer will have the part number if you contact them with your model YTH20K46 and your Product ID (9604***** **) found under the seat.

To find your local dealer please use the dealer locator found on the website: http://www.husqvarna.com

It is upsetting that you have had this experience.

You would need to contact the consumer service division, this is staffed by a third party company and they will be able to take care of the missing parts or direct you how to have this resolved.

    This is a great question.

Originally there were two different 338XPT units, California and the other 49 states. The California had a larger displacement cylinder (45cc). The 49 state model (38cc) 338XPT has since with in the last year or so has replaced the California only model, this gives us a common model for all 50 states. The 335XPT is the oldest of the generation of the top handle saws and has an even smaller cylinder displacement. So in part I am puzzled by the comment buyer beware, the California models comply to an even higher level of emission regulation than the other 49 states adhere to. The California models can be sold in all states where if there is a unit for the 49 states they can not be sold in California.

It is very upsetting that you have had this failure.

I am very glad you have had such great service with previous products. I would ask that you have the dealer evaluate and explain better what has happened.

Some information I should give information that the models you list are not X-Torque models and only the 265RX is an emission compliant engine save the 335FR. Being an emission compliant engine meeting the next tier of emissions certification and being X-Torque the 335FR runs very lean, for this reason it is EXTREMELY important that the fuel be FRESH no more than 30 days old and that a HIGH QUALITY two stroke mix oil either Husqvarna XP Pro or Husqvarna Low Smoke or other JASO FD certified ( must have certification information on bottle ) oil be used.

The 335FR has been and is a great unit at about half the displacement of the 265RX. It is upsetting that you have had this failure and I would encourage that you review the type of oil and fuel that you are using as well discuss the failure with the dealer.

From everything I can look up , it appears to be a single key.

All Husqvarna service centers should either stock the key for sale or will be able to order a replacement for you.

Husqvarna does not offer an extended warranty, some third party companies ( typically available from mass merchants ) offer the option to purchase extended warranty.

    This is a great question.

Please with the spark plug in the unit but the switch in the off position pull it like you were going to start the unit to determine if you have compression that is causing this or if it is the actual spark timing.

If the unit still pulls over difficult you should take this to your local dealer to have the compression tested, it maybe so high that the unit will need to be decarboned

The question you re asking is involving the Kawasaki engine.

Husqvarna does not have detailed information on third party engines. I would encourage that you visit the Kawasaki engines website for the information you are investigating.

    This is an interesting question.

There are no provisions on our products for ANY type of steering assist. If you are having difficulty controlling the machine then we would recommend that you stop using the tractor immediately for your safety and the safety of others. You might discuss with your area service dealer any options that you would have maybe Wide Area Walk behinds or possibly a "Z" series mower.

    This is a great question.

Actually this is covered in the operators manual, usually depending on the manual the 6th or 7th page of the "Operation" section of the manual under the header "Service Reminder / Hour Meter". Also there is a frequently asked question that address this.

It is upsetting that you have had this concern.

First it is suggested that you NEVER use the mower when it is raining or the grass is wet, also the mower will not perform and as you are finding out you may lose traction. Also if you are losing traction as you are mowing across a slop the slope is to steep to mowed across. Per the OM the very first page states "Mow up and down slopes, not across." also "Do not mow on wet grass. Tires may lose traction.".

Please review the "Safety Rules" section of the operators manual.

It is not recommended that tires be changed as that would lead to unsafe operation.

Suggested bar lengths are typically given in the technical section of the operators manual.

All IPL and OM's are available for download on our website http://www.husqvarna.com.

This manual however was published in a time where the length was not given so after researching this model the longest recommended bar length is 24". Keep in mind the longer the bar and chain the more dangerous the chainsaw becomes. Use extreme caution and follow all safety recommendation in your chainsaw operators manual when operating this machine.
